I don't think there is any one or any easy answer to your question. Are you having anxiety due only to MS? Are you having unrelieved pain physically?

I hope you talk with your doctors about your symptoms to make sure they are under control. If you are having trouble coming to terms with having MS, I think it takes times to understand what is happening to your body and what you can do to treat it and deal with the symptoms. A counselor may help you work through all these changes, and your doctor may be able to help you decide if medication may help if you have depression and/or anxiety that should be treated. Coming here and venting about how you're feeling helps a lot. Time will help somewhat in that we often find that we can learn to focus on what we can still do, rather than the ways in which we are limited.

I don't know how long you've had MS or if you are taking any disease modifying treatment (DMT), but we hope to get to know you better. Please let us know how you are doing. We care about one another here.

For me, having a good support system is key. It helps for me to have at least one person (i fortunately have many) who don’t care that i have ms but love me for me. And these same people are there when i have an episode of looking spastic or i am upset.

Having a purpose is also helpful. I work part time and i cook and care for my kids so i feel needed

I’ve had MS for 56 years. It’s just part of living. We adjust, become resilient, plan around it, or don’t plan, willing to cancel plans, make last minute plans, ignore people who don’t understand (including the medical field), keep researching for things that will help you because each case is different, each body is different, but there are thousands to prove to you it is something we can live, enjoy life in different ways - just look for them, and pray a lot for guidance.

Any kind of exercise (whatever you are able to do) can help with that along with getting outdoors.
