I need to let someone know this finally my husband and I our house is going to be paid off YEAH !!!
But something else we are going to be putting in 8 NEW WINDOWS. The windows we have are really bad we have been dealing with a drafty house for so long and with me being home 24/7 is not healthy. I actually have 3 windows with plywood on them. I said to my husband and son letโs not tell anyone that we are getting them replaced and we will see who says anything. So I have to let someone know so I thought I will let you my other family now first OK I know that sounds crazy ๐ but I donโt care.
So this winter hopefully the room I am in 24 hours a day will be warmer.
This is not how I thought my early retirement was supposed to be like. I was going to spend it going hiking and enjoying nature. I really HATE this disease it has changed mine and my familyโs life so much. That I think getting new windows are a big deal.
I hope you all are having a good day!!

Functioning windows are a great thing! It allows you to enjoy the great outdoors and be warm! All in the comfort of your home! Especially good when you are in New England!

ssdw1958 Congratulations! Being mortgage free will feel so good. If I may make a suggestion about new windows: almost all new windows are double pane for insulation, and some unlock, tip in for cleaning, top and bottom. With these, there is no need to remove screens (a pain) or get a ladder up against the outside of the house, or hire someone to do the job. I'm guessing that most of us can keep the inside of the windows clean, but it's the outside that gets rain splashed, spiderwebbed, and gathers dust. But again, how fine to pay off that mortgage! Well done.
ssdw1958 That's terrific! It makes window washing so much easier (to say nothing of getting the spiderwebs out...but then, maybe in Massachusetts you don't have the bugs that we do in VA).
Well sometimes we do but around my house hornets like to make there home one set of windows we have a board over them and the man taking the measurements was like oh you have a nest then we found a nest of yellow jackets in our cellar it was the size of a soccer โฝ๏ธ ball I told my husband as I was taking my sonโs bike upstairs I will not be down here until that is gone. This of course before MS I donโt do stairs anymore
Congrats on paying off your mortgage and getting new windows! After purchasing my new house in 2006, I had new windows installed and it was GREAT! Like goatgal said, double pane windows are GREAT and easy to keep clean on the inside! Keep us updated on how your family responds when they find out about your new windows
Congratulations on the mortgage and the windows. No mortgage is a big deal. Last year when we sold our house and moved we were blessed to sell our house for enough to buy our new one and pay cash. Wow what a feeling.
