I woke up at 4 this morning and went outside my apartment building to enjoy some cool air. What did I see waddling across the parking lot? PORCUPINE! Honestly, I came in and immediately looked up porcupines on my tablet just to be sure I was not imaging something, and really WAS a porcupine! Now this is not a big city, but still a city, what was it doing here? I was shocked. So wish I had my phone with me. Just had a good laugh for my day and had to share it.
Much love to all, Kelly

No, I checked with some friends who grew up here. Turns out they are indigenous to Kansas and because I live close to a river, they would be here also! Weird!
Was up to my buddies house and two raccoons π¦ came thru the yard! He has lived there 40 years and never seen one. Cute but rabies is common with both. ππ Ken πΎπΎ
Thatβs amazing! I love random wildlife encounters. I live in a small city (40,000) in SC. We have all manner of animals wandering around town. Foxes, deer, raccoons, opossums, bears. On my way home from work last week I saw an armadillo cross the road! I knew they had been seen in SC for a couple years but, wow! π
Yes, I see armadillos often, too often road kill, but they are really neat. I am so sorry about the loss of your husband, but as you have said he is truly at peace. Much love, Kelly xx
That's neat! We have raccoons, possums, skunks, as well as 2 - 3 regular feral cats that wonder our backyard many a night, just passing through the backyards. And I live in a Chicago suburb! I catch them every morning recorded on our ring spotlight camera. Luckily none of them venture by our ring doorbell, or they would wake us in the night, as it We also have fox occasionally. Once every couple months I'll catch them strutting the sidewalks very early morning. Never saw a porcupine? Now you're going to make me research if they live around here? Been thinking about getting a few guard alligators, can they be trained? Already have one that lives around our bushes. But it never moves, so it isn't any good at guarding the house. Kind of like rabbit or bird statue, but an alligator. So can you train an alligator? We already trained 3 young raccoon siblings which must be living nearby, as they are always here at night. They come up the stoop to the back patio door, all at the same time, and look in, looking for the cat they met while really young, right there. They must be friends, and the cat is up half the night. So in a way, somehow they got trained to come find their friend?
