Yes I am being a whinny baby. I grew up in So. Calif. where 40° is frigid. I have lived in TX & AR for the past 29 years. This is the worst winter I have seen. Im used to temps in the 20s & high teens but not in single digits let alone single digits with a "-" in front of them. We went to bed with the water running both hot & cold on all faucets. 2am was the last time they were checked & running fine. Temp outside was -6°F. At 4:30am the water was frozen or the pump is frozen as we are on a well rather than city water. Its now 7:30am & it's -8°F. We have 5-7" of snow on the ground with a handicap ramp that is frozen. We are also expecting 6-10" more of snow on Wednesday. This area is not equipped to handle this kind of weather & the town is shut down. Praise God we dont have ice. Our well house is about 200 yards from the house. We have to manage to get down there without freezing to see if its the pump or the water lines. Hopefully the truck will start, if not then maybe the golf cart. I know this is nothing compared to what some of you are facing & my prayers go out for you. But as a city girl from the sunshine state this is a little more than I want to deal with. I never imagined how much the cold can make a body hurt. On an UP note, Alexa says its supposed to warm UP in the 20s this afternoon - yeah!😨 I know God has got this & we will make it thru this. Its times like this that He reminds me that He wants me to depend on Him. I am also thankful that He is here for me. He has gotten me thru a lot worse than this.
Thanks for listening I feel much better knowing you all are also here in times of need.

Second this is normal for the north. When I woke up this morning it was -1 and snowing. 2 weeks ago when I was in Wisconsin it was -6 and a snow storm with a weather advisory
Seeing warm weather people talking bout it being cold reminds me of when my sister lived down south and the people were freaking out cuz of the cold and snowy n how the city n state completely shutdown and everyone from up north was running around like it was nothing she also talked about how the people emptied out the stores
That's exactly what it's like here! We just aren't equipped for this kind of weather. It's been since 1899 that we have had weather this cold here. It was -8 this morning. We have another round of snow coming tonight too. But at least it won't be as cold. Our water pump froze last night even though we kept the water running all night. At least it wasn't the pipes! We can always be thankful for something!
Me too. That's one of the joys of not having to pay a monthly water bill!😜 If the weather listens to the weather-casters we should be ok by Friday. We live next door to a resort hotel so we can go over and get water anytime, thankfully.
it is okay to whin we all have done it but you are right this year is very extreme ...don't know what to say or what to tell you to do...stay safe and stay warm....love and some happiness is with you and hoping for some warmer weather for you ...
It was a blessing to read your story. I pray that by now you have your water back on. Just know that this to will pass and He Jesus our Lord and Savior is still in control. Have a blessed day.
Thank you. It has passed & if it wasn't for Jesus i probably woyld have lost my mind!😂The snow is starting to melt we got our water back yesterday afternoon. The temps are finally above freezing. Im thankful we didn't lose electricity. Im praying for the people in TX that have it worse than we did here in AR. There is always something to be thankful for.
