Ok, so the hoarders in my area have stopped buying all the toilet paper and paper towels, but now you can’t find milk and butter! Why would you hoard that? That stuff expires!! Stupid idiots.
Why?: Ok, so the hoarders in my area have... - My MSAA Community
Why?
...and meat.
people are just doing stupid things now.
they hear it's a possible shortage they go rack up creating a supply and demand crisis
Just as this started I was in BJs trying to buy my usual every 2 month stuff. Of course toilet paper, paper towels and tissues were gone. But I saw a woman with her big BJs shopping cart filled to the brim with 1 gallon containers of milk! Really? They would all go bad within a week or 2. What about people who were looking to pick up only a gallon for their kids? It was all I could do not to go over and say something to her!! But I keep my mouth shut, for once!
Hi everybody, so I was one of those people that bought a normal amount of toilet paper and now running near the End of my supply. It’s been a month. What now?
The cows are practicing social distancing.
They making lots of cookies and freezing them🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣or ice cream? Or cows scared and quit giving milk to us? Yea - blame the cows!!!!🤣🤣🤣
There are a lot more people eating all their meals at home, so the grocery stores have trouble keeping some items in stock. Also, the milk farmers are milking the cows and then pouring the milk into the fields because they can't sell it for a decent price. The supply chain is all messed up.
It may not be hoarding. The farmers, dairymen, meat packers are all struggling: many of them depend on seasonal/immigrant labor which has been affected by restrictions, restaurant closures and/or illness. Wisconsin dairies are dumping milk, Florida growers are plowing under produce, packing houses are impacted social distancing, illness among workers, and the need to alter routines in order to sanitize. It's a very complex situation that has revealed the fragility of our food production and supply systems.
and eggs, and cottage cheese, food in general, they (whoever they are) meat will get worse,3 major processing plants have closed.I mean dried spaghetti, really?
Yes,yes.... I watch the news a lot (boring,huh? )
But it is reported between Coronavirus and meat plant shutdowns, shipping problems, immigrant labor, restaurant closures, people quarantined at home, school closures......
The list just goes on and on.......
Hang on there everyone!!
We will be ok 👍!
If you have Panera near you they offer some groceries in addition to the regular menu for delivery or pick up. They have milk available on their grocery menu. I am sure it cost more than the grocery store but if you got to have it that's an option. Maybe other restaurants offer it as well. I am not a milk drinker but do use butter. Luckily I picked up some last time I was at the store. I haven't gone shopping myself for about 3 weeks, been sending my hubby since I am on Ocrevus and don't want to be exposed to people.
You may find some food hoarding but the biggest reason is farmers can't get their bounty out to market. Some of the packing plants have shut down. Some warehouses are shut down. Logistics has been a nightmare. Once the gov't opens up the cities & people start back to work again it will level out. It won't be back to where it was but it will be better than it is now. In the meantime stay safe.
