I like that post a lot better than your serious one. Your attempt at facts and into wasn’t exactly correct. My daughter works in a trauma center. She is an RT. This is a serious situation. Since I am a 73 yr old with bronchitis, asthma, and recurring pneumonia and compromised immune system, she calls me daily. The number of covid19 cases are not being reported because people are being told to stay home with “light symptoms” and not being tested, whereas if a person has flu like symptoms, run to the doc, get tested, get meds, get work excuse, go to bed. And the number of flu cases get reported. Not so with this mutation of SARS. Stay home, don’t get tested. In fact, it takes a major list of serious symptoms to even get tested. Until 2 days ago, one of the requirements to get tested was to have traveled. Ever been asked that before you got tested for the flu? Don’t ignore this, folks. China beat it because they shut down their society as Italy bid doing now. Will America do that? Only with the National Guard pointing guns in our faces. I pray it doesn’t come to that. Making jokes is a wonderful way to cope. I look fwd to my daily laugh with your humor. I already have my TP and other necessities or I would barter my 4 bedroom on the lake (well, small fishing pond, with an acre). My daughter ordered me to do the 2 week stockpile 2 weeks ago. Her hospital is now testing their first case. It is sad beauacrats and economics dictated who got tested, but that’s profiteering healthcare systems are all about. Bet you could make jokes about that (like the balls - loved that one).

This virus will hurt our economy for years to come but perhaps it is meant to teach us to become self sustainable within our borders, revamp our health care systems, analyze the motives of practitioners, and as a society revamp our priorities. Is life or lifestyle the meaning of joy and love and happiness?

One of our hospitals is arranging pick ups in the parking lot, and escorting the assumed contagious person to the iso room via an entrance not open to the public. My county closed schools due to two positives.

Other states and cities doing all of this?

(No worries, the kids who normally get free lunches will be able to pick up meals!)

My daughter lives in Seattle. Last week, they asked 2.2 million people to work from home if possible.

Good! I hope they are all behaving...at home.

Yes my state is giving free lunches to the kids whose schools are closed. That is a loving gesture. But who is staying home with these kids when the mom is sole bread winner? Our society is so messed up. I long for the Bible based society to return, but sadly not in my lifetime. Your hospital sounds smart. I hope every hospital does this and encourages people to get tested. How else will we know where it has spread and where to lock down to stop it? Or do they want it to continue so we have to pay for a covid 19 vaccine every year? My latest prescription co-pay is $42 a month (trileptal). I can’t afford it. Will my insurance pay $1500 for the covid test? Who knows til I get a bill. I am ready for another joke from texaslawman. I don’t seem to be doing funny things anymore. Just the serious stuff like grease fires blazing up to the microwave and water running over the bathtub and doors left unlocked- no funny stories from me any more. 😢

I was wondering the same thing!!! Hopefully the single parents can work from home too 😵🤷‍♀️

The testing isn’t being done until the person seems like they have it, and probably with state health department involvement. I have not heard what the trauma centers here are doing to prevent the spread of it.

Yikes!! You have to laugh at those things too, or you just cry. I almost did the bathtub thing the other day when I forgot I was fixing V a bath 🤦‍♀️😬

Look here let me stop you there before all of this crazy started happening my family stocked up on everything ( we shop at Costco and we by 2 of everything and more if it’s on sale) we have rolls to tp, paper towels, paper plates, , you name we have it.

Don’t let me forget about food we have 3 refrigerators that have freezers . We have 3 large freezers and a deep freezer all are well stocked.

So I think I would beat you in the house trade off.

It’s good to have a professional chef as a mother and that you live with.

I don’t think you can top that

Okay, every month I attend a local MS "self-help" group and I come face to face with examples of how blessed I have been. 24 1/2 years since my diagnosis with MS, I use a CANE to get around. So many in that group use walkers or wheelchairs. Still, we can get together and joke about our conditions and laugh. Then I come home to my partner of 30 years who is suffering from stage 4 COPD. When he is home, he is attatched to a oxygen-creating copacitor and can only be without it for about 10 minutes. He goes to work pushing ahed of him alittle cart holding his oxygen tank. He is terrorfied of COVID19. There are NO jokes and laughter around him. I am as helpful and supportive of him as I can be. But 2018, I wound up in the hospitalbecause of 3 brain bleeds and I too, was diagnosed with emphyzema and COPD. Not as bad as my partner's, but I smoked for over 30 years. I celebrated this Janurary 1st, that I hadn't lit up a cigarrette in 2 years! I'm not on oxygen. But the damage has been done. I will always live with that, or die with it if I contract COVID19. Oh! I'm also on a "immune system supression" medication because of MS. Yes, I bought toilet paper Saturday because I pee ALL THE TIME, and I'm dealing with raging diareah--a side-effect of that DMT I'm on, so I go through a rollof TP every single day.

But I won't stop being myself. I'm going to laugh and joke about it all. Because I sware the only reasons I'm still alive after 2018 iare my faith and my ability to laugh. And if that isn't allowed on this site, I don't belong here.

I truly wish you both good health and tons of laughter. At times it may be hard to laugh but I truly found laughter and being with my daughter to be the best medicine. Life is hard with MS and this Corona virus definitely makes me and my family nervous but I still try to stay strong for my 10 year old daughter

Someone my boss knows sent him a "funny". (Insurance agency.) "Let us quote you and we will give you a free roll of toilet paper!"

What was the last bid on the lake house???
