I had my very first video phone chat today.

It was a test call to set up my appointment with my MS specialist. Ut was to be may 4th but was moved up to Wednesday. I'm reeling old now that I'm falling behind on all the technological advancements happening it's kind of crazy but in a good way. No more long travel times to go to the doctor. Grocery deliveries and all. It sucks that a pandemic brought some changes but they are for the better for me so it's kind of bitter sweet.

They get to make same money 💰 and don’t see you in person. Some might not even need office anymore?

Medicare and Medicaid pay what they pay and that's what it is so in not so sure about what they will pay for video visits. They work out all the details but I know they dont get what charge cause I look at my statements. There is a website called GetRoman.com where you dont have to go to an bnb office for alot of things. Its already here!

Oh I agree I think this is the new norm with doctors. I don’t like going in for just a review to get meds renewed. Always seemed a waste, take your blood pressure, temp, and how you doing and renew meds for my $40. Copay. I hate to see so many in the medical field layed off when I think lots of surgical procedures could be going on rather than pain and more pills 💊 for addiction. Anyway, hope you have a great week 👍🙏😉

It’s def crazy isn’t it Allen5280 . My Neuros the only dr I’ve got that isn’t doing video chat yet. My pain management dr and urologist both were video but I’ve got to drive my usual 160 miles Thursday to my Neuro.

Ugggg, I feel your pain but mine was a shorter version. Mine was only 95 miles each way. That still was a long day that I paid for dearly the few days following, in the least.

Mine was actually 80 each way total of 160 but both of us had long drives. Luckily I’ve got50 miles of interstate each way makes it a little. I feel like I’m really getting somewhere with speeds of 65 to 75 mph against 45 mph.😁😁😀.

Well our speeds are 70 and 75 other than a few slowdowns to the pike. Takes about an hour 20 to and hour 30. Still hard on me wcwn when I dont drive it. I dont hardly even leave the house much anymore. Although I did go for a walk yesterday so that was good.

It takes me between 1:30 to 1:40 but I still drive myself and I’ll have to stop and get a drink on the way so not to bad. I make sure to make my appt when traffics died down from commuters. Yeah a walk sounds good. That’s one thing I don’t get to do anymore. Out to my shops about the closest I come to a walk and that’s probably 20 to 30 ft if I don’t fall that is.

I did a few video calls some years back (FaceTime) but it has been a while and I have forgotten how to do it.

My Clinic told me the app that use and they give me a virtual room number which I put into the app and presto there it is. I just log onto the app and go to my room 10 min early for my nurse to take any new information and then I will talk to my doctor.

I never got connected with either. Not at all with urologist and got my end where I could connect with pain management. But they couldn’t see me.

This sounds like it will become a new normal, Allen5280 It will be interesting to see how this develops going forward. I agree with Kenu about appointments where all that was accomplished was to review/renew prescriptions. What a waste of time! :-D
