My very first rose bush

Just wondering why it has two different colored roses? Also, how do I take care of this bush? Some of the leaves have bite marks in them.

Beautiful Juleigh21 I love them! I always get bugs eating my roses also. I spray mine with a salt water Mix. Seems to work.☺ But the orkin guy works better! 🤣😂

The salt, is small pinch, like an 8th? To 4cups water? Shake well! And spritz!

Good luck😊

And cheap! 🤣😂

I just think of the ocean, and the wild roses grew sooo much there. In Maine. Had to be the salt water, researched, and yup. 🤣😂

Works for me.🤗💕

Okay, I might be able to help. As for the two different colors, when a rose is created (hybridized) the root stock (roots) are combined (grafted) with stalks of a different rose to create a new rose. However, sometimes they remain unique. It's pretty huge, so it could be more than one plant.

As for the bugs, likely it won't hurt the plant, unless it's from Japanese beetles. Also, aphids. It would help to pick off the damaged leaves so they don't take too much unnecessary energy from the plant.

If you need more help, please let me know. I like roses.

Thank you!

The rose bush was hit by hail. Do you think once it dries out that it will return to its former glory, or just stay slumped over like it is now? There don’t appear to be any broken branches.

Someone else will probably know better than me, but roses are pretty hardy. As long as there are no broken canes, once it dries it should be okay. If any of the blooms are dead, you might want to remove them. It is beautiful!
