I’m just curious. How often do you see your neurologist or your PCP?

I see my PCP 4 times a year, my neuro twice, and my MS specialist once a year. They all communicate with each other to give me good care.

Typically see my neuro every 3 months or so. Then I see my primary care doctor on an as-needed basis for illness excetera. Then mix in there about 3 or four specialist that I see every year such as the dermatologist to check for skin issues my mammogram my other female needs Etc. It adds up along with the medicine. Fancy.

Between VA and regular neurologist I get seen at least 4 times a year. Pcp 2 times, hematologist 2 times a year, and I forget what else.

I have appointments coming out of my ears at the moment. Just by February 4th, I have the neurologist, bladder nurse, motion rehabilitation, orthopaedic surgeon, I try to stay away from the doctor, but when you have a UTI you need to go and get antibiotics. 😊

I see my neuro about once a year. Same goes for my PCP. Then, there's the dentist ~ every six months, and the eye doctor ~ every other year :-D

Neuro=x3/yr

PCP=prn and yearly physical

Neuro: every 6 months

PCP: a few times a year because she is always tweaking some med or supplement.

Eye doctor: yearly exam

Endocronologist: every 6 months

My biggest gripe is that no matter how hard I try, my neuro and PCP will not coordinate.

I wish all doctors who care for us would communicate with one another.

Neurologist - once per year

PCP- once every 6 months

Neuro doc 1x per yr (although he’s retiring in June 🙁 and will see new neuro joined practice after next visit —will be interesting to see differences since I’ve been with my neuro x dx ), see neuro nurse practitioner 1x yr. see pcp 1x yr and if needed for sick visits. Pcp just changed to concierge. But she spends full hour with me for visits, so worth it.

Hard to find good health care 😬

Even here in New England, it's so hard to find good health care. And coordination of care is spotty at best. They were to introduce a system (over 10m years ago) where all medical records were to be 'shared' amongst doctors but currently that only exists if your doctors are in the same hospital system. :-D

Neuro every 6 months

PCP is supposed to be yearly but I go every other year since I don't have any other problems to manage (no high blood pressure, diabetes, etc)

Gyn yearly

Derm was yearly but now every 6 months due to AKs at last 2 visits

Both of them want to see me every 3 months. I don't want to see them this often, so I try to skip a visit or 2.

Neuro appt is every 3 months alt between MD and NP. PCP not really regularly but is reachable via my chart & everything gets sent to her -plus she sees both my kids every yr for their well child visits as well as my husband so she always asks how I am doing.

I was typicaly seeing my neuro every 6 months until he left and I ended up with a new one. Now have been seeing him every 3-4 months because of med changes he made. Used to my pcp every 6 months or when I needed to but this last time he changed to once a year unless I need something. MRI usually once a year to recheck ms.

I see my neurologist, cardiologist, opthineurologist and Primary care every six months, now. For th last two years, it was every 1-3 months for those three docs, plus pulmonologist and oncologist. Then last year my primary care sent me to a dermatologist and a pediatrist (neither of which were for cosmetic reasons). I felt like I'dbecome a professional patient rather than theprofessional photographer I was prior to landing in the hospital.

Just saw my neur right after Christmas, had MRI Monday on Dr. Martin Luther King Day and he'll want to follow -up next month! No change in years, let's PRAY for the same...the contrast made me itch like crazy.

I see a collection of "ologists" ...neuro once yearly unless I need anything, rheumo every 2 months, optho every 6 months, neuro-optho every 6 months, retina specialist every 6 months, gyno yearly, mammogram yearly, bone density scan yearly, dentist every 6 months , pcp every 4 months. Quite the "social" calendar..😵

It seems like a part time job or hobby sometimes, doesn’t it?

If there aren't any problems (infections, injuries, bad lab results) that need attention, I see the PCP every 3-6 months and the neuro about twice a year.
