Are they clueless?I get so tired of these questions.Do you work...on your doc entry form you dont need to answer...when asked if they sell the list the answer was....YES.This was a local family practice...have the knowledge to ask if they sell some of the info because it doesnt all fall under the HEPA law.I now do not answer race, married etc..blank it.I was so surprised.A while ago I was Identity fraud victim of the tune of over 7000$ With MS its a lot of work to go to the police station file a report back to the bank to have it written off.The police said see these boxes? and he picked my file up put it on top and said done.To see what they bought in less than 12 hrs, Victoria secret, website and few others which went from a ping here to dominic Republic to gone....Just a heads up...just be careful. So to the doctor I said, no not retired...just TIRED! Protect your info especially if you fill out forms. You can write on the bottom of the paper: *no permission to sell my information etc/

If that questionnaire is part of your health evaluation and family medical history it falls under HIPPA. If your family practice center is selling that information report them to whoever granted them their license to practice and the better business bureau. No medical institutions should be selling your information for any reason. They are required to get your permission to share specific information with other medical professionals/institutions for the benefit of your health and nothing more.

You post is so revealing. Next time I will do what you suggested. I agree with Peruzzot , this doctor's practice had no right to sell your information if it was part of your records. Report them.
Thanks for that info!!
