Hi....My name is Mike and I just joined this community. Over the course of the last twenty years my treatments have been weekly injections, daily injections, three day interval injections, Baclofen Pump and now Ocrevus.

One of the things I struggle with is heat. I've tried vests and all kinds of cold wraps with little success. Recently I came across a new item called Embr Wave Thermal Wristband. It has been on the market for about a year now.

Has anyone heard any reports on this device? The cost is almost $300 and I don't want to invest in it if it's no good.

Welcome, Mike!

I don’t have information about the wrist wrap. Are you aware that MSAA has a cooling vest program?

I hope you find something that helps.

I tried a cooling vest several years ago. It was ok for about 30 minutes. Then the ice packs started to melt.

Unfortunately, for me, I was in a place where taking it off was not an option! It was a bad experience.

Thank you for the suggestion.

$300 sounds awfully steep for a very limited effect. The website indicated that it only changes your perception of temperature, if I’m understanding it correctly. They likened it to holding a cup of coffee or a glass of ice water. I would think that would not do enough for you to truly lower body temperature.

I hope others chime in.

They have a special right now of $60 off the $300.

The web site I used is

embrlabs.com/products/embr-...

The reviews I read said it worked fairly well but the price was to high.

I think I’d have to agree that the price is too high. Do they offer a guarantee? Could you try it and get a refund if it doesn’t work?

I just looked again at the website. Right now, they will give you about a month to try it before you must return it.

I'm still thinking about lt. Let me know if you try it out.

I doubt that I try it. I’ll let you go first!

Supposedly if u cool ur wrists its supposed to cool ur whole body. I wud try ice packs first and see if that works before spending that amount of money. Just my opinion. I cud be wrong 😁

Welcome to the group! I've never heard of the wrist bands. But I haven't been looking for cooling stuff. So far I haven't suffered the heat sensitivity issues that so many others do. I'm sensitive to the cold. But not because of MS. I had frostbite and pneumonia and have had issues with cold ever since. I'm comfortable at temps most people complain are too hot.

Hiya Mike! Welcome 😊 where are you on the road? How is the Ocrevus treating you?

I have to say I have never heard of that little device. And after reading it. I sure wouldn't pay 240. for it. It's got a cool concept. But not for that much.

I use the cooling belt, and I love it! It's not bulky and easily stored. Have you tried neck wraps? Those are cheap and work great!

🤗💕

With my ms I have doctors all over the state of Michigan. This month I have appointments with four doctors. All at least an hour away. So, I feel like I'm always on the road doing something. Don't get me wrong, I don't like sitting at home all the time but I would like to socialize with someone not in the medical profession!

I have tried wraps, vests fans etc. Still looking.

Welcome! I saw the ads on Facebook for it and I don’t think it would have worked for me. I bought running gloves that have ice for your wrists, back when the heat use to really bother me, and it wasn’t the best help for me. Maybe you could try those first or a similar ice therapy pack for wrists.

Hi Mike...Welcome!

I purchased that same watch for my husband who doesn’t have MS, but constantly breaks out in a sweat and overheats with no rhyme or reason.

The watch, bottom line, doesn’t work. It’s the equivalent to running cold water over the inside of your wrists. Feels good for that moment, but that’s it. Don’t waste your money....sorry I don’t have a better answer for you.

Welcome to our group. I am on Ocrevus too.

I haven't tried any cooling products yet. I malfunction much quicker in the cold than the heat and don't have to be outside for long periods of time.

Not sure if the cooling vests of today are superior to ones you tried in the past but you could get one from MSAA to try.

Hi Mike!

Welcome to our group. I use a cooling towel which I bought on Amazon.

It's cheap and it works. You wet it with hot water wring it out and believe it or not it turns cool.

Best Wishes,

Leslie

Welcome

Where do you live? Houston has some intolerable days. But thankfully lots of a/c. Lucky dont have outside job. My cooling vest heavy but use to garden(sometimes). Ice cream my go to, really sherbert.

Hope you find some something that works.

Peace

Try hyperkewl it lasts longer and doesn`t use ice packs, you wet the vest.

Welcome. I'm also on Ocrevus. I have ice packs that fit on my wrists. They do help some. I also have the waist band ice pack. For me the melred ice packs means its time to get back into the a/c. Too much heat exposure even with uce packs would trigger a relapse. I agree with everyone else that $240 to $300 is way too high.
