Ocrevus denial

Wizardsmom profile image

My insurance just approved Ocrevus. I have been on it for 2 years. Today I got a call from the doctors office saying that the insurance has now denied Ocrevus. I'm supposed to have my infusion on Thusday!!! Don't these insurances know they are messing with our lives?!? Just venting, thanks.

Vent away! Yes, it's extremely frustrating! I hope you call the insurance company yourself to find out what the glitch is.

Keep us posted.

Rant on! Call the insurance co. and press them. I saw the bill for my infusion treatment and it was staggering. I know that the pharm co. Is making a fortune off of those without insurance, but the price was over 100K for the infusion with the adjusted cost at $50K and my cost at $0. I find this criminal and I hope you can get it straightened out.

Good luck!

Craig

Insurance and pharmatical companies are crazy with some crazy prices. I was also in shock when I received my infusion bill. My wonderful infusions were $70,000 with no adjusted cost. The same with my generic brand of Ampyra. The generic brand was $3500 for 60 pills. I should be walking, jumping, skipping, jogging and going up and down stairs with that high price and 4 remaining refills. 🤔

My neurologist office has always been able to straighten out my denials (two) one of which was denied AFTER my infusion, which was approved BEFORE infusion. The last infusion was denied 2 days BEFORE my infusion but approval was obtained prior to my infusion! The current cost for my infusion is over $140000 ~ highway robbery ~ right CraigS , and I am certain that I don't have that! Talk about stress. I am praying that you (healthcare provider) will get it all sorted out. And I know that it is easier said than done, but, please stay calm because stress is not good for anyone. :-D

I'm so sorry. See if you are able to call your Doctor's office or directly to Ocrevus. Praying for you.

So sorry this is happening to you. I would call your doctor's office or insurance company to see what has suddenly changed. Ocrevus may also be able to help. Good luck. Keep us updated when you can.

That’s not fair. How can they refuse to let you have the infusion, would the be the same if you had cancer? They certainly mess with your lives. Hope you get it sorted, Blessings Jimeka 🤗

It’s absurd and disgusting that they think they can get away with messing with people’s lives! I so hope it gets sorted out as it’s so important, apparently my Tysabri infusion costs £15,000 per bag! 😳😳😳😳😳

I am sorry you are going thru it. Insurance companies are something to deal with. They want you to have it but they don't make it easy to use when you need it. Hang in there. It will work out. 💪🏽

I know full well the frustration of insurance companies. My husband started COBRA in September and they restarted his $3,400 deductible. In error.

I agree with calling Dr. Mine has been great about it.

I’m so sorry! I’m afraid this will happen to me all the way to the infusion center. Can you appeal?
