Life has been busy!!

We are of the LDS (Mormon) faith and my son received his mission call to Ukraine/Moldova so I’ve been busy clothes shopping with him. It’s a lot of work buying everything you need for two years!

Garden is growing great this year. I have had oodles of zucchini and cucumbers. Tomatoes are thriving and I’ve made soup and spaghetti sauce. Peaches are next!

I applied for a job at our local library and had an interview yesterday. If you’re a praying person, please pray for me!! This is the first time in fifteen years I haven’t substituted. Feeling a little lost!

Been having a pain that follows the nerve that goes behind the ear and down the neck. One doc thought pinched nerve. Been seeing a chiropractor. Another doc thought inflammation from an infection. Put me on steroids and an antibiotic. That helped a ton! But still having problems. Neuro thinks inflamed nerve due to tight muscles. Could use prayers in this area too!

Saw my neuro a week ago. He says I’m boring!!! 😁 it’s his way of saying I’m doing great. I did an mri yesterday just to see how things are (it’s been six years since my last one). My neuro said if there’s no change he may reduce the frequency I take Rebif injections. Can’t complain about that! I don’t mind the noise or enclosed space of an mri but I hate how bad my legs ache from holding still so long!!

I had an appointment to get evaluated for lasik. Big waste of time. Even though I asked ahead of the appointment if MS is a problem and they said probably not, at the end of their 15 minute film it said autoimmune disease disqualify you. I never even saw the doctor. I just left. My husband had even taken time off work to drive me since it’s 45 minutes from home. I’ll look at other alternatives later at a different place.

I guess that sums things up!! If I could eliminate the pain behind my ear, life would be smooth sailing!

I'm so glad that your MS is stable. It's good to be boring in that area. Congratulations on your son's Mission call! I'll be praying that you get the library job. I hope the pain behind your ear resolves, chronic pain is so miserable. It was good to hear from you, take care!

Congratulations on your son’s mission.

Is it a requirement that all LDS go on a mission?

You have my prayers

Not required exactly. All young men are encouraged to go. Many women choose to go. It’s very much a decision between you and god.

Is that the son that has just graduated and helps you with the puzzles? You will miss him, but I am sure he knows what he is doing and feels that it is Gods plan for his life. As for your ear, I get it round my left ear and mine is due to increased build up of plaque in my neck. I seem to live with a microwave heat pad around my neck. Mine is worse when I have vacuumed. I will pray for the library position, the pain around your ear and your sons new adventure, 🙏 blessings Jimeka 🤗

Yes! Same son! I’ll miss him. Might have to borrow kids from the neighbors. 😉

I haven’t tried heat. That’s a good idea!

I like your garden. Your son is doing what I used to enjoy doing on shorter time periods. Made me so appreciate what we have and how little we need.

What a beautiful (and productive) garden! Prayers for your son, your job and the pain. I confirm the recommendation to apply heat.

Your son is doing a very good thing. His faith and dedication is inspiring. He must have stellar parental role models.

Hope the job works out.

Have a great day!

Oh, I never realized you are LDS! I, too, have sent two sons and one stepdaughter on LDS missions! My twins went to Nicaragua and Honduras, my stepdaughter to Albania (what a difficult language)! Lots of clothes to buy! White shirts, ties, good shoes, suits, etc, you know! Modest skirts, dresses for my stepdaughter. Plus hair thingies to keep her long, beautiful hair up. They warned that the men in Albania like to touch long hair! Do you live in Utah, I forget. At the time, I was in the Sugarhouse area of SLC. I will pm you. Love, Kelly

Yes! I’m in Utah. Tons of clothes but we’re getting close. Three missionaries! Wow!

It will be hard having him gone. He does so much to make my life easier!
