Today I was very happy. I was able to walk on Elliptical machine at gym for 15 mins. It has no impact and feels like I’m walking on marshmallows or doing a moon walk. I hold onto bars in front of me and alternate arms as I walk at whatever intensity I set. I haven’t been on this machine for almost 2 years due to fatigue, loss of leg strength and balance issues, etc. My severe relapse back in May 2018 was a major setback for me and took me a long time to get to this point. I owe big credit to my new MS treatment I’ve been on since last Dec, my Neurologist, stretching and riding my bike often, but most of all, keeping the faith.
I have rough days with mental & physical fatigue and severe nerve pain-like the last two days, which makes me feel depressed and scared at times-then I lose confidence in doing things, but I know I can’t give up, because that’s too easy. Thankfully, my confidence starts peeking its head around the corner shortly after again and hope.
Hope this can be encouragement for you somehow. MS is a roller coaster ride, but keep pushing through!

Thank you, I’m so glad it’s encouraging. I’ve been on Tecfidera since Dec 2018. I think this has been the best treatment for me so far, in the 6 years since diagnosis and being on other treatments.
Thank you! The sides of my legs feel more sore today since I used elliptical yesterday. I know I’m working different muscles instead of bike riding so that’s good.
You are an inspiration, Nikki! Don't get discouraged if you cannot do the treadmill every time that you go to the gym. The fact that you go to the gym is awesome, that you move, that you know the importance of exercise, is so encouraging. That you for your lovely photo, your smile, and your positivity!
