Nuero appt today

Nuero appt went well today. We're going to look into changing my Amprya. I'm taking a generic version which I don't have much belief it's working all that well. He believes the Ocrevus is helping. He only sees me once every 6 months but has a very giod memory as he has relayed things to us that we didn't even remember happening until he'd mention it asking how'd it turned out. I was very blessed when I was sent to him just after he started in Pittsburgh.

When I switched to the generic ampyra I found it wore off more quickly. My neuro has me take the second dose much earlier, and for me it solved the problem.

My neuro only prescribes brand Ampyra. I have read that, depending on where generic Ampyra was manufactured (for example, in India), it may not work. Only generic manufactured by the brand manufacturer is supposed to work. I don't know what I would do without my Ampyra. Have you given up on it?

I still take it. I asked my nuero to ise the generic in case the original would've cost me too much.

How often do you take it?

2'xs a day.

At what increments? My brand stops working after about 11 hours.

They never really set any increments. It just says 2'xs a day. But I might start taking mine closer together. Right now I take them 12 hrs apart. Gonna have to cut it back to 9 or 10hrs.

Just be careful taking it in too small increments. Taking it too close to each other could cause seizures. My neuro was okay with me taking it every 11 hours. And I don't care that it is 13 hours when I am asleep in the morning. 12 hours apart definitely doesn't work, but I think 9 hours might be too aggressive. And you probably should first try out the new regimen with your wife being at home. I am terrified of seizures. My former boss's 35-year old daughter died of a seizure.

I am so happy that you are pleased with your neuro. About generic versions of Ampyra, sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Pay careful attention to all ingredients, including the 'fillers', as some may not be too good for you. Best of luck with Ampyra. I was one of the unfortunate patient that it did not work for me at all. But I did try. :-D
