A couple of things came up today and I thought it might be prudent to clarify my position.
Firstly, wear protective underwear, bladder and bowel issues may not effect “YOU” now, maybe not ever, but would “You” rather be protected or standing in a puddle of urine at the grocery store. Your choice I know where I stand.
Secondly, take a Disease Modifying Therapy. I know they suck I HATE needles but I did Beta 1b for years because it was medicine and I believe in scientifically tested medicine, so quit messing around and take the medicine.
Thirdly, learn about your illness, as much as “YOU” possibly can, then forget it and learn it again. this is not a condition where “you” read one book and know everything, read them again and again until they really sink in. Ask questions, there are no silly question, except maybe the ones not asked, so be wise my friend. Open your mouth and ask. If “YOU” do not how will “YOU” ever know the answer?
Fourthly, and this is where the fun starts. Improve your diet, stop smoking, exercise and stretch.
Get these down pat and “YOU” will be well prepared for a very long walk along our ms life path, or if “YOU” prefer trip along the river of ms life. The choice is yours it is always yours. I can only make suggestions as to what may work for “YOU” based on my experiences. I have done some rather stupid things which have hurt and not worked out and a few I am glad I made. Make your own decisions, always remembering that is a very long life and a very long condition, with “NO” cures no matter what anybody says. It is not all doom and gloom and disability. There is no reason why “YOU” can not be an active vibrant person. Somethings “YOU” can not do, somethings perhaps “YOU” should not do but pretty much everything that “YOU” want to do, when “YOU” put your mind to “YOU” should at least try. Be stopped by a high brick wall not somebody else words or beliefs in your inabilities. Believe in yourself, read that again, live a glorious life. One which “YOU” can look on at ninety nine and say I lived well I am happy.
it may take a little while to come to this thought, but instead if looking at every event as another hurdle to cross, perhaps look at it as another opportunity to achieve something. Go for a positive and strong outlook, never weak and helpless. Do not sell yourself short and learn to love yourself and your own company. “YOU” do not have to be a social beautiful, being a hermit is okay just not real popular these days.
I did forget to mention, that if “YOU” find anything I ever say helpful, feel free to pass it along, no fee will be attached.
