Sometimes no matter how prepared, how habitual we are, something is not going to go correctly. Because we interact with the outside world mostly. No matter how much we try to avoid the outside world, which is a very very bad thing to do. Yes, sometimes it just does not go right. I do not think this makes either of us bad, lazy or any number of negative terms that we can come up with. It just “IS”, like having our form of ms. It just “IS”, come to terms with that and understand it. Be at ease with your failures and foibles, not in a constant battle.
A lot of your long journey through your ms life, is going to involve disappointment in one form or another. This “YOU” have to accept and come to terms with or “YOU” will be constantly angry which is no way to live a long life. That is not to say that their cannot be times of incredible joy and happiness. A beautiful bird, view or animal. When “YOU” watch as your child marries their first future spouse. Be honest they may end up with two. When “YOU” do your 44 setups in a row, yes, “YOU” really can do that.
There can be joy and happiness in this affliction, look for it and embrace it at every opportunity that “YOU” find. Live your long ms life with a sense of joy, hope and wonder, not fear and anger. They lead to wrinkles and grey hairs, and “YOU” my friend are far too young for that.
Every day that you awaken is a good day. As my mentor says “today is good, I am above the grass”. I am sure she will not mind if “YOU” adopt that strategy and live your day with an internal smile on your face. The world does not have to see it, it is there for “YOU. If “YOU” share it that is good, remember though that not everything has to be shared with the world all the time, we are not actors on television.
Our life and existence is wondrous, it took a very long time for us to be where and the way we are today. Do not waste this opportunity that “YOU” have, make the best of it no matter what roadblocks are thrown in your way. This is a doable illness today. For Relapsing Remitting ms(RRms) there are treatments. There are techniques and lifestyles that “YOU” can follow or adapt to suit “YOU”. There is hope and a future available, “YOU” just need to pick yourself up and reach for it. There is room for all of us on this journey, “YOU” will not be excluded if “YOU” choose to join us along our ms journey.
