Don’t go cold turkey, you can do more harm than good . Take it slow and let your body get used to it slowly, good luck, it can be done. I used to drink 12 mugs a day now I only drink decaf. I just love the smell of coffee brewing but I weaned myself off and I am not going back. Blessings Jimeka 👍
What's the point of coffee without caffeine? That's the only reason why I drink it. I have coworkers who like to tease me with "Here's your sugar with coffee."😁 i use sugar and cream to drown out the taste of the coffee.
I used to drink a pot every day but for the last twenty years it has been 1-3 cups, normal is two. I just enjoy it as I read the morning news and this site 👍😊🙏. Ken 🐾🐾
I love coffee, don't mess with my morning coffee! My sis is very healthy and green, she will only drink organic coffee, her research showed the well known coffees, the beans are sprayed heavily with insecticide, the higher in the mountains they are grown the less insects and more expensive and less spray. you would think that would be enough to it up huh?smells sooo good
I have stopped coffee a number of times over the years and I usually get a headache for a few days, then *poof*, it's gone! I go back to drinking it and have to build up a tolerance for it or else I'll rocket to the moon if I have more than 2 small cups.
I on the advice of the doc who said...after spinal tap..go home and drink as much MT DEW as possible to stay off the sideeffects of tap..he did tell me over 13 yrs later I have tried to quit well over 20 times. If its in the house you will drink it.Ive gotten down to 3 glasses a day..than MS fatigue pain whatever...yikes.I have quit all other vices.one thing for sure is you will lose approx. 10lbs stopping if not replaced by food! Many prescribed meds contain caffeine and otc, even in baby products facial creams etc a low amount does not have to be reported...sad....sorry this is a downer...
I quit drinking pop over ten years ago and changed nothing else and lost ten pounds in a year. I wasn’t out to loose weight but it shows how much weight pop can do 👍😉. Ken 🐾🐾
Anyone think caffeine makes spasticity worse? I have TIGHT feet and wonder if my morning coffee might be bad for it (I haven't yet reduced/removed coffee to see if there's any difference).
cutting down on coffee is a tough one if you're used to drink a lot. Don't go cold turkey because, as jimeka says, you'll be up for major withdrawal.
Here are a couple of tricks that have worked for me:
- choose a vacation or other change of routine to start cutting down. I found that the change of your daily routine also make it easier to break the daily habit of coffee
- replace all your good coffee at home by not-so-good coffee (even bad). I switch to powder coffee and drink a lot less because it's less inviting
- try to replace afternoon coffee by herbal tea and find a taste you like - ginger, hibiscus ...
Once you start to feel the benefits (like sleeping better), it should be encouraging you to do for. And just like breaking every habit, I've relapsed and then got back to cutting it and it's all ok
You know what? It’s funny- coffee doesn’t taste as good to me as it used to. Some cups during the day are just habit. Those cups were easier to eliminate! I often don’t even finish the whole cup of coffee when it stops tasting good. It’s like my body is telling me something lol😜. I’m a slow learner, and my daughter calls me Captain Obvious for good reason! ☕️☕️☕️💤
