Power went off some time during the night … Bill woke me up about 8:15 so we could go get coffee at the truck stop … He had been up since 7:30 with NO COFFEE!! Poor fella. NO lights, NO heat NO coffee. We made it the power was back on when we go back PRAISE GOD!! Electric co. is getting more proficient about getting the power back on in the outer regions.

Poor guy! It's something we don't think about much, but we sure miss it when it's gone for even a few minutes.

Have you ever noticed that the electric goes off before you even have time to fill your flasks 🤭

Hey Mary it's Fancy. Having no power always stinks. Curiously how's the weather in your area? If you remember I'm in central Kentucky and to this point we've had just rained. Lots and lots of rain. It's supposed to be turning off to snow fairly quickly sometime before 10 and then the winds are supposed to pick up to the gust of 40 to 45 miles an hours creating whiteout conditions down here. Be careful and take care. I hear you're going to get hit a lot worse than we are. Fancy.

Hello Fancy We had rain & more rain then a little more rain oh yeah some wind too. Bill said if all that rain had been snow we would have a few feet of snow oops that is a bad word. I'm watching out side listening to it hit my garden window & it's a clicking sound I'm hearing looked out back the deck is covered not quite 1/4" of ice mix with snow. that was 8:30 or so. Now 10:45 it's all white, it's windy & we have had a power flicker about 9:30. Think I'll head to bed now nite all

Hi greaterexp & jimenka It would be nice if the power would send us an email telling when & how long the power would be out. lolol I know wishful thinking.

You are very lucky. I don’t want to loose our power my neighbor said I could go to her house BUT I don’t do stairs and I need my own toilet so I can get up from it so I pray I won’t loose mine. My town is pretty good at putting the power on 🤞🤞🤞

Cross your fingers.

I understand about stairs my knees don't bend as easily as they should especially in cold weather, & the toilet needs of a grab bar every body should have grab bars. l keep you in my prayers.

kycmary I'm glad the outage was brief! It's terrible when outages are wide and long lasting because then gas pumps don't work and truck stops don't have hot coffee (gas and coffee being our two rural necessities)

I have found some of the best coffee at truck stops, my husband drove tractor trailers for a while. When he retired from that he got a van & did hot shot deliveries for a few years, hot shots are things they can't put on a plane for one reason or another.

Makes you sooo appreciate power,I remember a couple of times we were without power for 5 to 7 days with tornados, they power trucks would sit in the mall parking lot overnight,i worked in that mall and all of the employees would stand in the parking lot and applaude as they left every morning to turn our power on.Our local trucks and out of state trucks, bless them!

Yeah been there done that too when hurricane Ike blew up here some years back I think we were out almost a week. I appreciate all the electric workers from all over they are quick to jump in & help just like first responders may God bless them & keep them safe always.
