PAIN AND EXTREME TIGHTNESS IN SHOULDER

Has anyone experienced a crushing squeezing feeling, followed by pain and loss of ability to raise arm up, also hand clasping all at once. This started 3 weeks ago, comes on suddenly, no reason. Had xray, mri, ultrasound, blood work.

Everything is great. Still no closer to what is causing this. Dr. suggested Botox in scapula area. had Botox 10yrs ago. Caused to much weakness. don't feel like it is MS related. Anyone have something like this???.

You Might have Frozen shoulder I got mine when I got my pneumonia shot my shoulder hurt really bad I couldn’t move my are back you might want to look into that. I would have trouble with putting on my my jacket , putting on sweaters and anything I needed to move arm. I’ve worked it out more but you might want to check that out with your doctor. I’ve worked mine out a lot but it still hurts.

Once I had a similar thing but it was in my neck. It was a super tight muscle that was so painful. Ended up trying flexed neck traction, told it was old age (was 29) traction worked mimimaly. It just came back. This was prediagnosis and I truly think it was an MS induced spasm due to an unknown exacerbation.

I feel for you! Is your doctor a neurologist familiar with MS? I’d say Botox is pretty radical treatment that might not help if the cause of the pain is not known. Try another doctor I’d say. At least search for the cause of the pain.

Mine eventually subsided slowly but returns it’s less painful during attacks.

I hope you feel better traveljaff. I use Arnicare Gel for any aches or bruises. It's very helpful.

Almost sounds like the "MS Hug." It is muscle spasms around your chest & back & sometimes neck. I'm not sure what causes it other than it is MS related. I have had it several times & it feels like I'm going to choke or pass out. Then it stops as fast as it started. My muscles would be sore for at least 24 hrs aftward. I would suggest you ask another doctor that is familiar with MS. Botox isn't usually an answer to fix an MS problem.

I have not had that kind of pain I have had some bad muscle spasms & taking a relaxer like Baclofen & heat along with working some stretches in my muscles has helped. As far as taking a Botox shot no way. Botox is from a poison & use said before It made you week, you were LUCKY! then think about that lots & lots please. I'm just meeting you & would like to have you around long enough to get to know you & you to know us. We are a crazy bunch of MSers you might even like one or two of us.
