FINALLY! Ocrevus

I was finally approved for the drug ocrevus. After months of trying and being denied. The drug company approved me for the free drug. I still have to pay for the hospital administering it. I am a little excited to try this. BUT... scared that I will have bad reactions to this like I did tysabri. Now waiting for the call to set up a date. Any words of advice or positive encouragement is appreciated.

Thanks

Jenny 😎😕

Yay! It is such an easy thing to do. Pack some food and drinks - we packed peanuts, pretzels, a sandwich, some water (lots of water) and brought a book to read. Ended up watching tv the whole time. Oh - we also brought a blanket because, opposite of almost everyone else - we get cold rather than hot! GOOD LUCK! And great job keeping after them to approve you!

Sounds like ur family stayed with u? Is that required? I was going to send my husband home so he didn't have to watch me sleep? Food! That's a great suggestion. Thanks!

I just want to tell you that my husband stayed with me because for him to go back home he would hit so much traffic coming back into Boston. Now if you don’t live that far away who ever is going to drop you off I believe they don’t need to stay with you, But they may need to go up to pick you up.

I would call the nurse to find out.

Good luck.

You are so brave Jenny. You have made your decision, now take the bull by the horns, do as the others have told you and do it. Remember to relax, and think positive. Let us know how you do. In my 🙏 🤗 Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🍫

Hi Jenny I’m glad you are going. I know someone said to bring a blanket I had mine administered in the hospital where the fusions are being given.so they had blankets ther. I brought my electric pad. I have raynards which is means I get very cold, if they give you Benadryl which I had you will get sleepy. I got tiered and fell asleep, you will need someone to drive you back and forth.

After I had my infusion I stopped off and grabbed a bite to eat and when I got home I took a nap.

I was groggy that day but I didn’t have any problems after wards

Good luck to you!

Hope all goes well for u 🌈

The o company has a credit card where u submit insurance Eob and they help with infusion $ (that's if u have private insurance) and they said they have other assistance for govt ins or uninsured?

It's quite natural to be scared to try anything new. If you feel you reviewed it as well as possible and found out all the pros and cons

and negatives you should be all set.

Glad to hear you were approved! Like you I was nervous about possible side effects. I had a headache for a couple hours a caught a cold. You'll be fine. As the others have said take something to keep you busy. It's a long run time.

I hope it's as easy for you as it was for me.
