Part of the problem is ....

I am disabled, I can not take myself everywhere at the drop of a hat. Is it up to me to be accommodating?

Is it up to me to have options available whenever I want to do something that requires somebody else's help?

Is it up to me to assist somebody helping me achieve what I want to do?

Of course, it is.

Just because I am categorised as chronically disabled, does not give me total permission to be rude or inconsiderate. Demanding at times maybe, but I should temper my demands with politeness. That other person has there own demons, "NOT" the same as mine but demons none the less.

Perhaps if this was considered occasionally, Your life might become a little easier. I would never consider surrendering yourself totally to somebody elses whim but a little humbleness and humility could be a good thing.

I like, I believe it is, the Buddhist way of looking at things. I am here to learn something to help somebody. It is not important who or what, but I am sure that if my eyes are open I may understand one day. I feel that maybe if "YOU" start to develop your own attitude and belief system, that this journey may not become easy but a little less difficult. We do not have to travel the ms life constantly struggling and in pain.

Just a little attitude adjustment and a bit of thinking "YOU" could make this not so ghastly. How do "YOU" as a new Relapsing Remitting ms person want your long life to be? Again my friend your choice always your choice, I merely suggest that you think about your life and choose well.

Royce

Good luck on your journey

I try to remember that my needs to not negate the needs of others.

I am studying social work right now and it’s important to collaborate with the client but they ultimately have control over what happens with their services because it’s what they want that matters not the professional helping them

certainly true, we have to open our mouths and say what we need

Yes! I am a planner. As much as possible we should plan ahead so that others too can plan how they can be of assistance to us. Others should not be imposed upon at the drop of a hat unless absolutely necessary. There are lot of community services available to us that we can tap into.
