newbies, You are now a member if a very exclusive club. From memory, I was once told we are 1 in 1000. I will be corrected if somebody knows better. Now YOU take that number and look at the miles and miles, or kilometres and kilometres of nerves in our bodies. YOU, WE, US have a maze of random and variable symptoms to experience during this journey. Add to that WE ourselves, are not exactly always doing sensible things to ourselves, YOU are in a Maze that makes the ancient Greeks just stare at in bewilderment.

We are up against it, so let's start doing everything we can to give US EVERY tiny little advantage. that we can to make our lives easier.

THINK THINK THINK. Before YOU do anything THINK about what YOU are going to do. How YOU are going to do it. What YOU want to achieve, then, of course, a different way to do it when your first plan does not produce the results YOU wanted. Think about it for a second, then DO it again.

If your first attempt at a task does not work, try. try, try, again. Do NOT give up, DO NOT berate and condemn yourself. YOU are not weak. YOU are not stupid or useless. YOU, just couldn't do it at that moment, that is all. Be kind to yourself, be gentle and forgive YOU. YOU only fail when you decide that YOU have failed. Everything is just an opportunity to try a different way.

Do not start being negative to YOU. Start this once and very soon others will follow. Then more and more YOU will start down the slippery steep slope of negativity, YOU will start to hear them, and to believe. Trust me YOU do not want to go there. Yes, it can sometimes be a challenge, that is why having something good, tasty, funny in your life is so very important. That's why my neighbour and I now have joint custody of her dog. She needs to chase some bloke\guy and I really need somebody else to talk to.

There is a way through this labyrinth that we call ms life. It is our task as msers, to get through and get to the other side, remembering always to achieve that in the most comfortable manner that can.

Take the steps,

1. take a disease-modifying Therapy (DMT)

2 look after YOUR diet

3 start exercising

4 start making notes of appointments and your condition

5 think seriously about stopping smoking and drinking, they really are not your friends.

6 be willing to let things go, people, stuff, they are all just things,

7 MOST IMPORTANT, FORGIVE YOURSELF AND BE KIND TO YOU.

Good Read Royce. I would add for any "Newbie" that we are here for them to read along, ask questions and feel free to join in anytime. Especially explore the MSAA site that brought them here. MSAA offers so much information and SERVICES that can help the new kids or those of us that have been here a while. We each have a story of how MS started in our bodies, and it is interesting how MS affects each of us.. One of the most important acts that I did, even before a complete diagnosis is I prayed with my Pastor, and just gave it to God! For those that do or have someone to pray with, it lifts you up, definitely has helped me remain optimistic!! Thank you RoyceNewton for posting allot of information that we each can use at any time to deal with the MS monster.
