It is time to get out of bed. Of course "YOU" are "YOU" are reading this. Most things are functioning as well as they do on any given day. Your very own individual, customized only for "YOU" and nobody else messge is, "what can I do to make today a better day? Perhaps not just better, but Good, NO great" "YOU" ask this of yourself everyday don 't "YOU"? I think perhaps several times. Maybe when something does not work out as simply as "YOU planned. When that square plug will not go into the round hole as "YOU" planned. I am sorry, but as a wise friend often says "ADAPT ADAPT ADAPT". Do not beat yourself up, berate yourself or demean yourself. There are unkind strangers for that. "YOU" know where to find them. This is our life with Relapsing-remitting ms (RRms). It does not always work the way we have planned it to be. It is up to us to make things the way we want them to be. Realistically, of course. ms is, after all an incurable chronic progressive illness. "YOU" have come to terms with this for the moment haven't "YOU"? Do not fret, I think in reality "YOU" never wholly do. I see someone jogging in the park, and I sometimes have a twinge of why not me, I see pilots in the airport and think that should have been me. Alas, it was not, but I can and "YOU" can open your eyes each morning get out of bed and make whatever we do have, work for us in the best way that it can.
We do not have to live a life of regret, in that cold dark corner weeping endlessly. We all can seize the day, straighten ourselves, pull our shoulders back look straight ahead and say "today I am going to do the absolute best that I CAN, and if I do not, there is always tomorrow". There will be many many tomorrows. Many failures and just as many opportunities to achieve. To achieve dreams, to find companionship, to have children if "YOU" are so inclined. There are so many opportunities, possibilities when "YOU" throw that leg out of bed, sit up and start your day. "YOU" are so much more than merely some strange illness. Do not sell yourself short, "YOU" can accomplish great things. Do not expect to defeat our condition in one day, one week or one year. RRms is with us until we pass.
Give yourself goals, achieve them. Change them if "YOU" must, but give yourself time and forgive the occasional setback, Neither "YOU" or I are perfect, nobody is even if they pretend to be so.
Royce ( the ms writer)
forgive yourself any faults, you can do RRms, believe in yourself
