User ID Meanings

I thought it might be fun to learn the stories behind some of the user names on this forum. My guess is that many chose a simple form of their own name because, well, that is their name. Duh! Others chose a battle name to demonstrate their fight against the MS monster. Or, as our new friend, finallyseekinghelp, said, the name explains it all. For me, well, just about everything Disney makes me smile. I love the fairy tales and magic. Friends have called me Tinkerbell over the years. I love her spunk, fighting spirit, and her precocious behavior. At the same time, I love how Belle always has her nose buried in a book and, most of all, how she fell for the beast rather than the wonder boy. Thus, Tinker-Belle. What is your story?

Great post, Tinker-Belle !

I chose Tutu because we lived in Hawaii for nearly 20yrs, and in Hawaiian, Tutu means grandma. My grandkids call me Tutu! I’ve had to explain that a few times when asked if I was a ballerina. Ha! I can’t picture myself in a pink tutu! 😳😂💕Dawn

I’m a Charles Dickens fan, and Great Expectations is one of my favorites. It’s a rich story and a good lesson on humility and real love. I like the idea the name conjures up, which has nothing to do with the book. It helps me remember to look on the positive side of all situations.

I love that. The name is even more beautiful with the explanation behind it. I have never read that book. You've made me want to do so, though.

I too loved Great Expectations! I must admit that it has been around 50 years since I read it. I will remedy that very soon. There’s nothing like reading a great book! You can often find me reading and loving every minute 📖

Did you by chance raise the chickens that you sold the eggs from? That’s something I teach kids; how to raise the chickens and then how to market the eggs ;)

Iggyvair profile image
Iggyvair in reply to 4krobh

Yes/no. The Farmer I worked for had 20,000 Birds, when I walked in the coop in the morning all 20,000 were flying. When they landed they were silent. Trying to figure out why the hell they flew. Where and what do you teach?

4krobh profile image
4krobh in reply to Iggyvair

Haha I would wonder the same thing! I teach kids how to raise Poultry, Beef, Hogs, & Lambs....among other things like Healthy eating habits, Science & Technology and Natural Resources stewardship and Forestry to name a few.

With the right students that could be a dream job. With the wrong students, I can't imagine

My brother taught cooking at a vocational l high school. One time he found a student washing his hair in the kitchen sink?

4krobh profile image
4krobh in reply to Iggyvair

Hahahaha oh my goodness!!! I MUST say it’s a dream job! All the kids I teach are really good kids; they choose to be involved and most of the time have to spend a little money to do it; so they + their families are invested. I travel to all 38 schools in my county once a month with the help of an assistant; so we get them for 30 min-1 hour & then leave them with their real teacher 😉 I love to go to work everyday. {When I’m feeling good that is!!}

Morllyn profile image
Morllyn

Morllyn: I read something, long ago, that said an origin to the name Martha (my first name) was Mor (pronounced “Mar”) and Llyn is another spelling for Lynn (my middle name). The meaning of the name “Martha “ is “lady” and the meaning of the name “Lynn” is “lake” thus Morllyn means “Lady of the Lake” to me.

Of coarse this was just my playing around with words and meanings.

Tinker-Belle profile image

I think this is wonderful. I enjoy learning about the meaning behind names. And Morilyn sounds so pretty. Love it!

Names are so powerful and carry so much more than the sound of letter combinations. I love Names! My name means the enlightened one and is greek. One of my daughters name’s means morning dew or dew from God and is Hebrew. One of my other daughter’s name means bird and is also Hebrew. My son’s name is Muslim and means the creator, and my wife’s name means heavenly flower as she was born in Hawaii. As soon as I learned what my wife’s name meant, I knew I wanted to marry her. Fascinated by names.

I chose bxrmom because, until last year I have been a boxer dog mom (and foster mom when I was involved in boxer rescue). My email address is even bxrmom :) Of course, I love all dogs. I currently have my 9-year old (10 in November) Pit/Lab Caddie who was only supposed to stay with me temporarily until my sister and her boyfriend at the time, could find a place that would allow them to find a place to allow them to have a dog after moving back from Oklahoma to Wisconsin. That never happened and Caddie has been with me ever since :)

Oh how I love Golden’s; I’ve never had one but think they are such beautiful dogs with great personalities. We have an 2-year-old Aussie and a 10 year-old-15 lb. mutt <3

Tinker-Belle profile image
Tinker-Belle in reply to 4krobh

They are the best. Aussies are beautiful, too. We had a sweet mutt, too. He looked like a giant golden retriever except he was black with a white spot on his chest! He was our gentle giant....or happy buffalo!

Im sure he/she found a loving home bxrmom. We have an 11 mos old Corso who rescued me last June! She’s a good girl. My wife named her Gina, my daughter named her Royal so my daughter calls her Gina Royal. It’s cute..

Thanks for clarifying, Belle. I thought Tinker-Belle was your super-cute dog’s name. My ID is not only self-evident. It’s my latest attempt at truly beginning to heal the internal warfare I’ve been battling for the last 17 years. I’ve been fighting alone, other than my not so consistent relationship with God and church.

Suppressing these feelings for that many years has been sooo tiring. Finallyseekinghelp allowed me to begin to finally get some rest. Thanks for your question. With this community’s help, healing for me, has begun.

Sweet Rob. One of my stations in Farm education is the chickens. It’s the kid’s favorite spot to go on the farm tour.

It’s amazing what kids DON’T know about food production animals. And honestly; it’s scary what ADULTS don’t know!!! I’m convinced people don’t want to know where their food comes from, and that is scary to me!

Tinker- Belle, it's Fancy1959. What a fun and awesome post. I might be a day late but I wanted to let everyone know what my user ID represented. One of the very first horses I raised was the prettiest leopard filly Appaloosa you ever saw. I had the mara at my parents home in southern Indiana and they called me at work and let me know that my mare had foaled this was on a Thursday. The next day Friday evening I drove up to their farm to check out my mare and foal. As I walked across the field and got close to my mare on the far side of her was her foal nursing. My dad walked beside me as I went to The Far Side of the horse in the first look I got at my new filly took my breath away. The first words that came out of my mouth was"Boy, she's fancy!" Well guess what it's stuck in I named her fancy. We had her for 27 years! We raised three Colts out of her and none were ever as fancy as she was! The term fancy became a family password that we use over and over again. So naturally when I was thinking of a username it popped into my head to put fancy first and the year of my birth second. That's the story of my username. To this day I remember dad and I walking around that mare and seeing my foal for the first time. That was over 30 years ago but it's like it happened in my brain yesterday. It's such a great memory because Dad and I did it together and I loved my dad so much!
