Well 3 day course of steroids are done and I don't notice much improvement. I did gain 8 pounds though and not from eating. Will this weight just come off or am i doomed? How long after the infusions should I see improvement? This is all due to not seeing real clear and not able to focus. I don't see my neurologist for 9 days so not sure if he can help me or just wait it out. So frustrating. Any answers you have to share is appreciated.
9 pounds gained from 3 days of steriods seems like a lot, is this normal? I did not over eat
Could I still notice an improvement? Last infusion was on saturday. How long does it take?
Thanks everyone

The last time I had steroids it was for five days and I started feeling better seventh day. I didn’t gain any weight but I know my wife has when she did steroids and took about month to loose it. It came off without diet or changeing anything . Hope you get seeing better soon 👍🙏😉
When I first had my steroids I had results a couple of weeks later but I have to tell you it’s not like you can run a marathon results. But t do remember another time when I had to walk in the hospital because I was going to be late for a appointment and I did it with some easy. about the weight I gained some weight but I lost some to but that’s when I was working and walking more.
It's been about 10 days since I finished Solumedrol, which was followed up by a steroid dose pack. I saw immediate improvement in spasticity. The fatigue and numbness are continuing to improve.
I absolutely appreciate the steroids and have had solumedral a few times but months apart from each dose. I did gain weight but it does subside and weight should come off. I have had solumedral a couple weeks ago and had steroids by pill form for a few weeks. I'm really struggling with my legs being sooo weak and swollen huge and had pneumonia bad. It definitely put me into the worst episode I have ever had. Baclofen really helps tremendously with my spasms and the steroids are keeping me walking. I have progressive MS and it's wearing me down financially physically and emotionally. I'm trying to get help for me in the home. I have temporary home health care right now through December 31st but I need it continuously now. Since hurricane Irma hit I have been struggling with pneumonia and MS!!!! I'm praying for you and hoping that the steroids help you quickly!!!! I'm on tysabri for MS every 28 days. It only lasts 3 weeks but it's better than nothing. I started talking to a couple people from MS Foundation and it's helpful for support!!! I'm also reaching out to MS Society but they are hard to find help. I think they are really busy helping people.
I'm hoping MS organizations get a 24 hour help line because I have a lot of issues at night. Any suggestions or support is loved and appreciated sooo much!!!
Steroidsare helpingme now but it's a temporary solution for MS!!! They are a life saver for me. They help break the cycle of the MS episodes.
jkdavid99 Did you neuro give you a low dose steroid to help taper rx to kind of weine you off the steroids? I know my neuro did that in the past after steroid infusions. I usually didn't have results right away, sometimes a few days later, others about a week later. Hope you start to feel better soon.
Thanks everyone. My vision is a smidge better. Saturday will be a week past last infusion. I had terrible heartburn and my eyes are really watery. Neuro says both side effects. I did finally stop fighting the stress to work and I have taken the time next week off to recover. I may need this me than I know. Really lucky I work for a great company. I also got everything done to start Tysabri. Now the questions will start for that. Lol. And yes I am terrified to start Tysabri but realize I need to do something for my health
