Hello I have been off and on Aubagio for about 3 months.
Recently my stomach hurts. Has anyone ever experienced this. It only recently started but it is cramping up. Not sure If it's the pills or an ms hug so I thought I would ask here. I am also noticing a little hair loss, not terrible but a little. The plan is the take the pills until Sept then get a scan again and see if it's helping. Sometimes I just want to skip a dose and see if I feel better. But I know it stays in your system for up to 2 years so I don't think skipping a pill would help
If you had stomach pain did it go away? And after how long.
Any advice helps.
Thanks

I am starting Aubagio next week. They have told me that many of the common side effects are GI symptoms, and hair loss. I know the hair loss should only last a few months, and then return to normal. The GI symptoms are a normal complication, but it wouldn't hurt to let your neurologist know, and you could also call and talk to one of the MS one-ton-one nurses as they are most well versed in this specific drug. Additionally, I am not sure when you take your daily dose, but it might be good to try it before bed, with some toast & peanut butter (to help with sleep) and see if that helps you rest through the side effects. Also, you might want to ask the nurse about pre-medicating with advil or something to help with the stomach pain before you take your dose of Aubagio.
Good luck, and I hope the pain subsides!!!
I know the first few months of any drug can be a bit rocky - especially the first 6 weeks of Aubagio tend to be the hardest as your body is adjusting!
I'm thinking your tummy problems could be a new symptom for you. I've had tummy and bowel problems since I went numb last summer.
I'm not on any meds, yet. going to neuro tomorrow to beg for meds as I believe I'm in my first relapse. I did have noticeable hair loss during the first few months after diagnosis last year. Could of been just the stress of DX. I started taking Biotin and I don't seem to be losing as much hair anymore.
I was on Aubagio for 6 months. Never had any stomach issues but the hair loss got really really bad. So much of my hair fell out it broke my vacuum. My neuro said to take Zinc and Selenium.
Aubagio worked better for me than Tecfidera and Copaxone but i stopped taking it cuz i am really vain about my hair and cudnt handle it falling out. Stupid reason i know. But i am thinking about trying Tysbari next
I've been on Copaxone and Tecfidera. I'm currently on Tysabri and have had 12 infusions of it. So far, so good! I'm feeling better on Tysabri than the other two meds. Good luck Midge!
I started having stomach pain after about six months on Aubagio and my hair also started falling out. My doctor looked at other causes for my pain and finally suggested I discontinue Aubagio when it got continually worse after eating. The pain immediately improved slightly, but it took several weeks to go away completely because Aubagio stays in the system for a long time,
I was on Copaxone then taken off and put on Aubagio. I had stomach pain daily. Also had impatient bowels that were completely unpredictable. I would have to go and I mean now. It was so bad the Dr took me off it and put me back on Copaxone
