Looks like I'll be indoors for few days. Besides air conditioning, I think I'll be wearing my cooling vest indoors. We got up at 4:30AM this morning just to get some things done before it got too hot. What do all of you do to stay cool during these Hot spells?

Besides I've been mainly inside, it hasn't been too horrible here yet. (Xenia, OH)
CalfeeChick we could do with some of your sunny weather here in the uk. All we have had is rain and our winter barley needs cutting. The rain has put it flat to the floor so it's more difficult to combine. My hubby was out yesterday trying to grab what he could between showers, so if you have any spare prayers, we need some good combining weather please. In the meantime keep that vest chilled, and happy crocheting, blessings Jimeka 🦋 🌈
CalfeeChick it is very here also
Upper 90's, next week's May hit 100.
What do I do to beat the heat? I stay inside with my AC running full blast
Have one in the bedroom also. I keep a cool bandana around my neck
CalfeeChick
90s and 100% humidity
Cooling vest (wore to the grocery store yesterday too), cooling towel, cooling bandana, swimming pool and recovery breaks (become inert).
I'm doing an anti-rain dance for you jimeka ☂
Never seen a vest...can you put up a pic of cooling vest and are they pricey?I have such a heat issue, pass out kind of heat sickness....
Look on the MSAA SITE. You can apply and you may get one for little to no cost. Also, stores like Big 5 Sporting goods, you may have to call around for to find one.
Hi jackiesj the site that CalfeeChick is talking about is this one. mymsaa.org/msaa-help/coolin...
I hope this helps😊

We hit the 100 mark Thursday for the first time this year, but a cold front came through yesterday, so we'll have a few days respite from the heat. Yay!
I stay inside in the A/C when it gets over 80. I don't notice that I'm getting overheated so ... Better safe than sorry. On very warm days, I draw the blinds, drink lots of water, and do as little as possible. Turn the fans up higher.😐
That's pretty much what I do. We inherited mother-in-law's house. Was built in 1954, no insulation, and just 2 wall air conditioners. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. I've installed ceiling fans in four of the rooms. I'll just hang out in the bedroom with the ceiling fan on air conditioner on my feet on a heating pad under the sheet. Lots of crochet in line for me.
Please be very careful. I worked in my garage yesterday and got to hot. Went inside to cool but my legs completely gave out. I had to crawl to my bed to recuperate. Scared me silly. We start a cool spell this week. Only in the high 80s. A blessing after a couple weeks in high 90s with 70' humidity. Stay cool.

Doubled51 it's very important to take notice of the warning signs, so that you're more aware of them next time.😊 I hate it, but I hate being paid out more.😁

I decided that we desperately needed apricot jam and strawberry margarita jam, bought the fruit, and am spending the day canning. Not smart! I'm still living in my before MS days! We have good air conditioning, thank God!
Stay smart and careful and cool everyone!
CalfeeChick sit in my recliner with the air on and my ceiling fan on high! Also drink lots and lots of water! Stay inside!!!! That's way to hot!!!
Cooling vest, cooling scarf, ice water, pre cooling in the car with ice crap on the way to whatever I'm doing, hydration, more hydration, popsicles, cold shower and wet hair in a clip, ice wrist wraps sometimes, adequate sleep and afternoon naps.
I found a doo-dad called "headache relief". It is essentially a headband with little pockets that you put these teeny ice packs it came with in. Did that make sense? Anyway, between that and a cooling mat I put under me on the bed, along with popsicles, a wet towel around my neck, and the a/c, I am sure I look like a penguin! Anything to beat the heat. Hottest July on record in Salt Lake City! I got my cooling vest on Amazon if that helps anyone, but MSAA does provide great assistance. Stay cool everyone! Kelly 💕 P.S. Praying for sunshine for you Jimeka!
I suggest fudgescicles!
I live near Abilene, Texas (west of Dallas/Ft Worth....I think I found out what hell feels like!😋. It's been in the high 90's to the mid 100's for most of the summer! Even before the dx of MS I hated hot weather! I pretty much hibernate during the hot weather months! The only time I go outside is to take my furry children out or to hang clothes on the line. The rest of the time I just run around naked and dance! 😂😂😂
I'm SOOOOO joking! LOL!!!
Gosh, I'd be out there dancing with you, especially if it's raining!!
