The weathermen here are predicting 100 today going up to a possible of 109 by next Monday or Tuesday! Wish me luck staying cool. We have two air-conditioners in this old house and lots of ceiling fans and you can bet they will all be running soon. ☀️☀️☀️

Do you have a cooling vest? I have one and I love it

No yet, I suppose I should. What brand do you have? Even with the heat, my feet always feel like they are on a block of ice, so they are on a heating pad 📝 most of the time.

I got mine from MSAA it says polar products on the tag.. They even sent me ice packs to replace the ones I've had for 11 yrs

My local Big 5 sporting goods also has a selection, I think you have to order the vests online.

Wow. Somebody else with cold feet. Its miserable. I'm an old country boy and I hate wearing socks and shoes. But now I spend my days wearing hunting socks and I absolutely hate it. Lol. But honestly socks don't even help. The only time I don't have to wear them is in this got weather outside. Its a miserable feeling. As a norm I don't wear socks or shoes from May until October. I even wear sandals to church. But that was in another life. Lol.

Hi Doubled51

I have the same issue as you. My hands and feet are always cold. I have to wear 2 pairs of socks a normal pair and high knee ones. I wear them at home all the time. I don't mind them, well actually I need to wear them because I will hurt all over if I don't. I am ok when I am out and about but I need them at home. Hope you get use to them!

Thanks. Same here. In fine out and moving but get still and I have to have them. Guess there's still some old hippie in me. Lol.

Well I'm envious that you can wear socks, anything tight on my feet send the tingles up my legs. I wear Skechers shoes a size large than I used to be able to wear. I'm working on a pattern to crochet loose fitting long socks for a trip I will tell you all about in July.

While your at it I wear size 12 in thick wool please. Extra warm please. Lol. Just kidding. Lol. My mother was a knitter. I still have several beautiful Afghans she did. She tried to show me a few times but my mind was to busy with cars to learn. And girls of course. Lol.

I do knit but prefer crochet, If you are really interested in learning, youtube has videos to learn. Craft store offer classes. Just don't get hooked on buying yarn.

Now that you mention it my mother crocheted instead of knitted. She had her first of three heart attacks in her 40s and was an avid crocheter from them on. I don't have the patience to finish anything like that. Lol.

Wishing you luck. Stay cool if you can. It hasn't been too bad here yet, just a few days in the 90's, but it's cooler now. Today I'm cleaning the garage in 5-10 minute spurts. My boys are coming over tonight for a combination birthday dinner and I will need to start getting that together soon to make sure hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Yow CalfeeChick ! Those are some seriously high temperatures! You should definitely look into a cooling vest or at least a cooling wrap for around your neck. I have a neck cooling wrap that I swear by. Unfortunately I got it at a craft fair years ago because I'd love to get a new one.

I have a cooling towel. The kind you wet, then shake with a snap. When I leave the house, that comes with me! I can't afford the vest and the MSAA says as a family we make too much money for us to get one from them. Grrrrrrrrr. So I will have to wait two years until my taxes show I am under poverty level to get one from them. Sorry, rant! I swear by the towel. You can get them on amazon or the local drug store. Even Walmart in the camping or work out sections. I have two. One in the house, one in my wife's car. Just putting it on your neck can change your temp! It is amazing

It's ok to have a rant. I've been on disb. for yrs. and still have to prove my Disb. Now I've got 2 Disb. One for Aggressive Arthritis and the MS. For one of my OA meds, I have to re-qualify every year, maybe they think I won the lottery 😀 Wouldn't that be sweet?!

Thanks😀 while I'm not looking forward to the heat, I know I will survive. I will go outside every morning when it's nice and cool around 430 5 o'clock just to have some cool air open house etc. then close up the house have the ceiling fans on until it starts warming and then the AC units. Cool no cooking meals. 😊

I have a vest but it feel heavy when I wear it. I live in El Paso TX and let me tell you it's hell. I don't go out unless I need to but that's almost impossible since I have 2 girls that get bored. I feel terrible for them but they understand. I use the vest when I have to be out for awhile. I have towel wraps as well which I use more. Do you need head aches when your out in heat?

CalfeeChick profile image
CalfeeChickCommunityAmbassador in reply to Kjbrubaker

I get light headed and dizzy on top of MS Fog, fatigue.
