Gilenya update
I am very happy for you that's how I get one of my medicine I wish they would do that with all of them. Before I hit my quoter for my medicines which is a good thing, one of my medicines went up $35 dollars which made it $85 dollars I might just ask my doctor if he has any free-bees on that one even if it is for one month. You never know??
Medication sure is expensive for you guys. Is there any help for people who can't afford it? Blessings Jimeka pleased that you got sorted π¦ π€
Got my insurance statement today and saw where the price of my Gilenya has risen to $7033 per month. Thank God that Gilenya helped me pay my deductible this year.
I think it is just silly stupid how much medicine costs. Drug companies know people need medicine. Just greed.
I know how you feel
I have help until December, then have to re-apply. What if I don't get it then? Stress, stress.
I am so very happy for you Kath55 ! π
Dear Kath55, I am really happy for you!! I had a similar issue. Now it's one less thing to worry about. Breathe and congrats for working thru it. The insurance is a monster!
Just as a reminder to everyone MSAA has a site with perscription assistance programs.

Hi Jes, I'm confused. The MSAA link is really a directory of programs from the pharm companies unless I misunderstood?
No it describes their Perscription Assistance Programs. For the difference DMT's.π Sandydemop

All of the MS specialty drugs have patient assistance programs which can provide financial help to patients on their meds if you have commercial insurance or no insurance or whatever plan you have doesn't cover that particular drug on its formulary. However, if you are on a government assisted plan, such as Medicare Part D, you are ineligible for direct patient assistance from the drug manufacturers because of the anti-kickback provision of the Social Security Act. In a prior post, I explained this stupid glitch in the SSA and provided a link to a petition I have started on change.org to get Congress to amend the SSA to allow Medicare Part D and other government plan patients to get the direct financial assistance provided by the drug companies. We have 51,000 signatures. I have contacted my Congressman, Tom O'Halloran, who is very willing to meet with me to discuss this problem, but I need to present the petition to the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Budget Committee because they have oversight over Social Security and Medicare. I have contacted these representatives and senators' schedulers to make appointments to see them in DC, but have received no replies. Also, my senator, John McCain, has made it quite clear that he is not interested in this issue. Oh, and guess who the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee? None other than Bernie Sanders, the Man of the People, who has yet to respond to my request for an appointment so I can present my petition to him. When I began my legal career, I worked in DC as a US govt.. attorney and I learned my way around the legislative process, but this has just become ridiculous. If anyone is interested, they can find the prior post and go on change.org and sign the petition.. Believe me, I will get to these people one way or another!

Fantastic, Kath55 . I hope it works well for you. It was the first DMT the neuro put me on, and I thought it worked great until it gave me stomach problems. The med was brand new at the time and that had not been listed as one of the side effects, so my neuro notified the FDA. I think it's pretty rare and I have a sensitive tummy and sensitivity to meds, so I hope that you don't experience it. Good luck!
