Gilenya

Anyone have experience with Gilenya?

I just realized that the Medicare Part D insurers will no longer cover the Brand drug Gilenya. Instead they are only covering its generic form, fingolimod. Have any of you transitioned from Gilenya to fingolimod and if so, how are you doing and how do you feel?

I have been using Gilenya for 11 yrs and I have been in remission for almost 3 yrs. I just got a letter from the pharmacy that Gilenya is going generic and I am very scared of the change.

She updated me that the other two girls who were getting off Gilenya at the same time as me in 2021 and who also miscarried are now mothers. So it was in fact Gilenya being the cause of our miscarriages.

To start Mavenclad i had to stop my previous Gilenya DMT for a period of multiple months during which i was expected to go without any medical treatment for my RRMS.

Dermatologist is keeping check for skin cancer from the Gilenya. But I developed a rash so I had to go back yesterday to see if it was due to Gilenya. So they took pictures to send somewhere for evaluation. So I have to go back in 10 days for another check up.

What has the JC virus got to do with tysebri I thought it only related to Gilenya

I went from Tysabri to Gilenya to Ocrevus and now going back to Tysabri...sigh I have the JC Virus, but my Neuro stated that I can do Tysabri every 6 weeks without much risk. Anyone experience the 6 week Tysabri and with JC virus?

Some MS therapies, including steroids and disease-modifying therapies like Lemtrada (alemtuzumab), Tysabri (natalizumab), and Gilenya (fingolimod), are associated with diminished effectiveness of vaccines and a risk of infection as well.

I was very weak and unfortunately with being on gilenya my blood pressure stays high and im always dizzy😞 plus I have been having chest pain and tightness around my heart.

What are your experiences with Ocrecus, Tysabri, Tecfidera, or Gilenya?? I think I am leading toward Tecfidera but still researching and contemplating

It is a problem related to Gilenya, so unless "YOU" plan on taking Gilenya it should not concern "YOU" When it comes to side effects read the forms they give "YOU" if "YOU" can as they are in small print.

I was diagnosed with RRMS in 1996 and about seven years ago my doctor took me off Avonex and I went on Gilenya. That didn’t work for me at all, I quickly worsened and now I have SPMS. My doctor doesn’t want me back on Avonex instead wants me on Ocrevus.

I’ve been on Copaxone, Tecfedera and Gilenya; I am currently taking that one. I have relapsing remitting ms. I felt relieved to finally have a diagnosis. It took about 6 years to get a diagnosis. I’m losing some weight and taking care of myself.
