It’s so cold outside!

Two seasons I dislike are summer and winter. This winter is very cold. So I have more muscle spasms and nerve pain. I feel like Tin-Woman of Oz. Only reason why I prefer winter over out “humid” hot summers is that I can go outside and leave the blinds up. The sun feels so good. Watching the sunset is awesome, such different colors than summer. Summer the heat/humidity is like kryptonite. I know how super-man becomes weak and unable to move. To work in my garden, I crawl out of bed. Then spray bug-repellent on so that mosquitoes and knats don’t eat me alive. Get ice vest, my hat, bottle water, tools and wear clothing that protects me from sun. I have until 11 am before, I over heat. I call it vampire life. Then I go inside until the sun sets. Some times I can go out in the evening; dead head plants using the yard spot light and a flash light. Some times I can go cycling with kids; play tag while cycling. Crazy! But fun... however this cold has me so uncomfortable. It’s too cold for me!! So much pain (I live in Northeast but so glad I no longer live in the Midwest).

We have been very fortunate here in Idaho as winter has not been to bad. Had snow at Christmas and rain since and been in the forty’s day and 28 at night. That’s way warm for this time of year 😉 Feels Great for me. Ideal is 45-50 at night and 75-80 days 👍🤗 Spring is on it’s way 🙏Ken

I went for a doctors appointment and what did we have an ice storm good thing my husband was with me but I will tell you it shore is bad when your in a wheelchair and your ramp is full of ice. I WANT SPRING NOW.

I refuse to be in a wheel chair. I want those nice plastic/vinyl covers plus a blanket to keep the cold air/wind from penetrating. Once I feel cold, I can’t get warm.

I agree with you 100% once I get cold all bets are off. I am done take me home.

The other day I had a doctors appointment and don’t you know we had a rain storm and once the rain hit anything it turned to ice. Going down the ramp my husband told me be ready to put the brakes on just Incase he fell oh I also had a plastic bag covering my legs. Don’t want this anymore.

Record amount of snow last year. Slopes were open until July 4th. There was a lot of ice today. Only the second one so far. I'm praying winter is going to end with only one or more icebapade. I'm not feeling as strong as last year. Watching that Connecticut river icing and backing up. Wishing a warmer NE and a continued milder in the NW my Lord amen. Xxoo

I feel for all of you. For most of us with MS, we are very sensitive to hot weather and to cold weather too. I was raised in a part of northern California that got allot of snow and I guess as a child and young woman, I was just used to it. I've lived in the northern part of the central part of the state since 1968(gosh I'm old) Now that I'm used to it here, I suffer in the cold and hibernate in the very hot summers. I wish we could move to a newer home with lots of insulation, central heat and air conditioning. My house slippers are my UGG boots. Most cold days, I am in my bed with heating pads over my feet, a heated mattress pad beneath me. Today our morning temp was 36 and hopefully will reach 52 this afternoon. We all just need to do what we can to make our cold/hot sensitivities as survivable as possible. Did you know that MSAA can help us with with everything from assistive devices to cooling products for those super hot days. Check them out: mymsaa.org/

Look under the "How MSAA Can Help" Category. I received the cooling vest last summer at no charge and it allows me to spend time with my pals, go shopping and just spending a little time outdoors. Stay Warm and cozy for now!

Yes, I love my ice vest. Plus going through menopause is not helping with the heat. But much better than 3-4 years ago. I don’t sweat like I played a tennis match in the heat or like a guy.

Me too. The two seasons that seem to last the longest. Because they overlap into the other two seasons 😂
