For my fellow insomniacs
A conversation I'd like to change 😴
Oh, goodness! I do that occasionally, erash. Can't imagine having sleepless nights (and that conversation) more frequently. 😬 I really feel for you. Thankfully, Ambien still works for me. 😴
Goodness knows I'm struggling right along with you on this one, erash !!!
I actually have begun to feel as though my sleep needs are evolving-- my body and mind do not reach a point of exhaustion until the very wee hours of the morning, at which point I catch a few hours and then start the next day. It seems almost surreal.
I know what you mean.
erash Are you still listening to audio books? Did the earbuds work for you? It's hard to think of something else when your mind is concentrating on a good book. Sometimes I just give in and get up.
Sometimes they work, esp. To help me fall asleep.
Mostly it's waking up feeling fully awake and thinking about all I want to do at 330 or 430am and not really wanting to continue sleeping 🙄
If it's between 2 - 4, I'll get up and do something, and then I usually fall back asleep in the recliner. If it's after 4:30, I just get up and start my day.
Love the post Erash. I think my biggest problem is you guys in the States. You post such good things, while you lot are awake I should be sleeping, but then I don't want to miss out especially with GasLights post about the music. 2 days later I am still thinking. It's great for the brain, it's like good mental exercise. So please don't anyone get me wrong, I am totally enjoying it. Blessings Jimeka. Sorry 😐 you literally can't sleep.
But jimeka you are always in the lead, and ahead of us...never lagging behind 😊
jimeka, look at it as always being early! How many of us can claim that distinction?!
erash You brought me a huge laugh! I replay difficult moments, hoping they will have a new ending. Nope. No luck.
erash, I'm sorry about the insomnia. Have you found any meds that are effective? I had Restoril once years ago, but it was overkill. (I found out I was having phone conversations I had no recollection about) OTC doxylamine has helped me most of the time. I sure hope you find some relief.
I use lunesta and rarely add an Ambien
Restoril worked for a few weeks. Doxylamine puts me into a very restless sleep.
Trazodone no help
Used valerian in past but concerns chronic use can lead to liver problems
I've read, several times, that melatonin or Rozerem can stim the immune system and might be a problem for MS. Although I know many use it.
There are some newer drugs but the studies show they help u fall asleep 10 min. Quicker for more $$$ and others with side effects I prefer not to deal with.
Can u tell I used to teach pharmacology? 🙃
Several yrs ago my sleep problems were more concerning to me.
I'm actually happy with 4-5 hours of sleep each night. Sometimes more if I crash for an hour in the evening while watching mind numbing tv (I'm a news junky and they tend to say the same thing over and over again just with a slightly different spin) 😝
Sorry for TMI
The cost of some of them would keep me awake wondering how I could pay for them!
