Blood in urine

Hi all can anyone please tell me if red and white blood in urine with no infection is a common occurrence for MS patients? and whether there may be a link between this being found in urine and borderline high haemoglobin?

Wow that sounds painful. If possible, call your doctor and explain what's going on with you or maybe a Quick Care clinic to have testing done while you wait. Blood in urine isn't good. I had that problem last month, blood in my urine and a painful urination, after blood work they found i had a serious UTI. Just be careful not to wait if possible. Blood is not a normal thing with MS. I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this but just to be on the safe side, give your doctor a call, please. Let us know what happens please.

Blood in urine is never good. That means there is some tissue damage happening somewhere along the line, usually UTI or kidney infection. Sometimes the sumptoms can be tricky.

Definitely see a doctor either your primary care or internal medicine. Stay hydrated with water and be sure to be eating healthy so your electrolytes stay up as they will most likely do a urine culture to test for infection bacteria, etc.

I have never heard of this being MS related...but it is possible it could be related to a specific treatments side effects.

Hi Queencara78, I have had microscopic blood in my urine since 2008. I know it sounds scary but its not for me. I have had extensive tests done. Bladder scope, ultrasound, other testing. All came out well. And I was told by my urologist, its just that way with some people. If you haven't, see your urologist for follow up.
