Hi everyone, I'm a 64yr old male have all these brown/black spots on my scalp and face. I've been to a dermatologist a while back, who removed some of them but in 6mnths time they were back in all their 'unglory'. I know I may have inherited them from my mother but I feel there must be another way to treat them specially from inside. Any suggestions out there? They're extremely unsightly. I cut my hair very short yesterday which was a big mistake cause now they're even more visible.

Dear Guitarist235,

Don't 'Talk' to me, about Skin Tags! Behind my right ear, under my arms, on my face (loads of them) between my legs and Yes 'there' too! I'm told that they 'Are Not Dangerous' so, most of the time, they are just 'Left'.

I did, quite recently, have a 'Nasty, Itchy, Weepy, Crusty' area Frozen- with liquid nitrogen..... it formed a Rock Hard Scab/Crust, for about a week. This then 'broke up', came off and........ Left a 'Weepy, Irritating, Itchy Area', It isn't Crusty, well not yet anyway!

Oh Well....

Hi Andrew I forgot to add that my whole back is covered with this stuff although to a lesser degree. I am seeing a 'dermie' later this month and this time I want to sit him down and have a proper discussion. I know his going to freeze a few and then prescribe ointment for the rest which I know from experience doesn't work. There must be some explanation for the appearance of these things and if he doesn't know I will appeal to him to exchange views with other 'dermies' or do some more research. Because it's not deemed to be dangerous its not very high on their agenda but for us it's 'dangerous' cause it leads to social isolation and feeling like a person who has some contagious deseased. So I'll post again after the 28 Feb after seeing the 'dermie'. In the meantime good luck👍

Could your condition be the result of sun damage? Everyone in my family who were sun worshipers decades ago have harmless but unsightly brown spots on our backs . The dermatologists always blame it on past sun exposure. They don’t have anything to offer but cosmetic removal.

Hi Modest no it can't be that. I do live close to the beach, go for regular walks but don't really suntan. But Thanx for response anyway.

The doctor said my marks on my forehead were because I had sun damage from when I was in Aden in the army even though that was a long time ago. One doctor froze one of them and it went. When I went back she was gone and the new doctors have given me a treatement for skin cancer which is frightening. It isn't any worse just a little bit unsightly. It is very difficult even to get an appointment in the UK so a lot of people are trying to get their own cures with places like this. A tenth of our taxes got to the NHS but we are thrown upon private solutions.
