Help dyshidrotic eczema

Hi everyone,

I am currently suffering with dyshidrotic eczema and have been for ruffly a year and a half. I have had no periods where my hands and feet have been clear !! This is extremely depressing, as it cause me so much pain and anxiety. I have a small child and struggle to do pretty much anything !! I have been trying to remaine positive but with no sing of improvement it hard not to just break down every 5mins 😭😭😭. Dose anyone have any advice for me.

So vexed for you honey, I have eczema - have had discoid and pomphylx and regular atopic and finally got to a dermatologist who got me sorted out. Pester your GP to get you some help x

I agree, I suffered from birth although it gradually improved as I got older. However it broke out aggressively all over my body and face when I was 14. I was eventually referred to a skin specialist at my local hospital who prescribed ointments to get it under control.

However it would always get worse every winter. I found that the sun always improved my skin (vitamin D) but when I bought a new house I decided to try a water softener. The water softener cleared up my skin entirely.

I know each type of eczema responds differently but this worked for me. Good luck xx

It's an autoimmune condition

I found that after taking phenylalanine for some other health issue it cleared up

Jennifer Fugo is an integrative clinical nutritionist who suffered with this. She has some great insights and actionable advice. She also has very knowledgeable guests/experts on the podcast, as well. They are available to listen to for free. She is my go to on skin related issues.

I think you'll find her suggestions may be just what you need to set you in the right direction.

I also agree with Mads1975, that a water softener can really help.

I had this for the longest time. Nothing the derm gave me worked. It helped immensely when I went on a keto diet, but I realize that isn’t for everyone. But there definitely is a direct correlation between what we eat and how our skin reacts sometimes.
