Actinic Keratosis treatment & Actikerall

Hi. Though I've had sun damaged skin for many years, I was recently given Actikerall Solution to treat a largish and longstanding area of actinic keratosis. I wondered if anyone had experience of using this and if so, how they had found it .... it's pretty vicious stuff! Also has anyone (in the UK) pursued a second consultant opinion in the NHS and how did that go? Thanks

I have the same condition on my scalp and found this product really difficult to administer on the back of my scalp and very painful to peel off. I had to use 2 mirrors to see the places to peel and found they constantly weeped after. However I did perservere and after a few weeks of finishing the course my scalp calmed down. 6 months later I do not have any very active lumps anymore. I am not sure if the agony is worth it though! I always covrr my head now no matter what the weather UV rays are always present so do keep covered and use 50 factor sun screen for you and all your family. I would not wish this condition ln anybody.

It is horrible to use and quite painful. But perservere and follow instructions. It will work - on that particular area. It's cleared about 20 sites on my head but not sure if I could go through it again.

Good luck.
