I'm 24 and I have had bad acne since I hit puberty. I've tried allsorts of pills, creams, and natural home remedies but nothing has worked. Please help. My face is starting to get badly scarred.
Teenage acne at 24: I'm 24 and I have had bad acne... - MY SKIN
Teenage acne at 24
My son is 16 but already has acne scarring because his acne has been so bad, and he's tried pretty much everything except roaccutane. He's currently on lymecycline & isotretinoin gel which are helping a little.
You don't mention if you've considered dietary factors (I'm sure you probably have) but If my son eats dairy, his acne flares up within hours. There is anecdotal evidence about the dairy-acne connection, but most doctors simply don't believe it is a cause. My son loves dairy food but chooses not to eat it most of the time as he reluctantly admits it's a definite factor for him.
I also suspect gluten may be an issue too, but he is adamant he will not give that up!
You have my sympathy - I suffered from acne well into adulthood, and rosacea too so I understand how upsetting it can be.
I know it sounds too good to be true but going vegan cleared up my acne also if you want more info on this i suggest checking out "Nina and Randa" on youtube they are vegan twins who had pretty bad acne and cleaned it up with a clean vegan diet (and lifestyle)
I suffered with acne, went through the years of face antibiotic creams, antibiotic tablets (gps usually have to work you up through mild treatments to stronger ones) finally saw a dermatologist and took isotretonoin (roacutane) which cleared my skin. I would suggest going to go and if scarring is an issue as I found stress this point, obviously roacutane is a strong medication but there may be other treatments Dr can suggest first.hope it improves x
