For as long as I can remember, I had a growth on top of my scalp which is about the size of an M&M and is bumpy. Looks very much like a cauliflower. Then about 15 yrs ago I had a tiny tiny bump on the back of my head and it developed into another one but larger. And another one right next to it followed suit. What ARE they? They arent sore, just ugly! Thanks so much.

Weird cauliflower like lumps on scalp...
I think it's a dermatofibroma - benign - a dermatologist has to remove it.
Why haven't you been to a doctor. My dog has one on her head,,or very like it. The vet says it's a adenoma but for goodness sake ask a proffesional to lok at it.
The one I read said cauliflower-like. Still, see a dermatologist and get it removed. Do you have the ability to do that?
If you are in UK go see your GP and s/he will refer you to appropriate service
I have 2 on my scalp and they drive me insane however the nhs will not remove them anymore and costs privately start at £300 for removal and obligatory £150 for a biopsy to be sent off.
As a woman I feel nasty and I'm paranoid people can see them as my hair around them has gone thin and snapped off. 😭
It is a Nevis Sebaceous. I have one too.
Did you ever go to a doctor to determine what this was? I have a family member that has something that looks very similar. They have an appointment in a couple weeks, but wanted to see if you ever figured out what yours was.
Hello! I have a friend that has a very similer looking thing on there head and was wanting to know if you ever got an answer as they are very scared of doctors or anthing (they dont even know ive seen it yet) like that. Hopefully i can tell them somthing positive that will push them to have it looked at?? Hope to hear back soon!! 🤞🤞
Hello, I just wanted to reply to you as I had the exact same thing as the original post I can confirm it is a Nevis Sebaceous. I am 36 and have had this from as long as I can remember but mine originally started as a smooth mole type lump. Recently it has completely changed to look like the pic originally posted. I went to to the dr 2 weeks ago, got referred and had a call yesterday from a dermatologist dr and I had it removed there and then. He said that they have been known to cause cancer in later years of life but not a harmful cancer but i didn’t want to risk it. I have had 3 stitches and quite sore but will be worth it. I am just so relieved to of had it removed as it was making me feel so self conscious. Defo tell your friend to go to gp, absolutely nothing to be scared off and get a referral. Hope this helps x
Did yours ever tingle or had weird sensations in it? I have something very similar on my scalp that has been tingling for days now. It feels like when the effects of dental anesthetics are wearing off and your tongue and cheek tingle. It is kind of driving me crazy. I have had it for many years, I first noticed it about 7 years ago when I was 22.
does yours seem to go down a bit if you happen to use an antihistamine? do you experience more then normal allergies?
