Hi Tom,

I have mild Rosacea and as far as I know, the only advice is to avoid alcohol, spicy food, excessive amounts of coffee, hot sun, cold winds. The information in this link might be helpful. nhs.uk/conditions/rosacea/P...

Thanks poemsgalore. That's helpful, big adjustments to be made, will miss the curry more than the alcohol!

Hey Tom, I was recently diagnosed with Rosacea too... Although I have QUICKLY gained control of it by using a tea tree oil regimen... There's more and more evidence coming that suggests Rosacea is most of the time caused by Demodex skin mites (you'll be grossed out if you look these up...) Anyway... Alot of people were singing an dancing about a cream called 'Pro Skin Rosacea' ...I don't see it as a miracle cure but it claims to fight against these demodex which live on every human... I've been using it for 2 weeks now... And now I'm able to wash my face without having a red flushing ring around my face anymore... It's been great! Do a lil research on it and try it for yourself and see how you get on... Btw, I eat spicy food and drink alcohol now with no problem too! ;-) ...Rosacea is such a poorly understood condition, so we have to take it into our own hands sometimes to deal with these problems... Don't give up hope!

Hi zo0mpa. Positive info received with much thanks. Got me thinking; about twenty years ago when I was a sailor in the Far East I got an eye infection, ship's surgeon plucked an eye lash from the centre of the infection which had a tiny dot of pus attached to the root, he told me that this was caused by a mite. I have since had intermittent skin problems, nothing serious and I thought nothing of it, nor made a connection to that infection. I may be adding 2+2 and making 5 but I'm going to mention it to my GP. Will google Demodex Skin Mites. Is Pro Skin Rosacea prescription or OTC? Since diagnosis two weeks ago I've been using Metrogel as prescribed by GP, big improvement to face but nose still very lumpy and red.

Once again, many thanks

Hi All,

I've had skin problems on and off since my teens, I'm now in my 50's, but after having very clear skin for 20 years it's back and thanks to the internet I've found out that it's Demodex.

I was searching yesterday and found a site called 'Demodex Solutions', I can't say that the ointment works yet but I have ordered it and feel very hopeful. If you do look at it make sure you read Chapter 5 on the 'All About Demodex' page, it's really interesting.

Also, there's a really good book by Patrick Holford called The New Optimum Nutrition Bible, make sure it has NEW in the title though, this one has lots more information, you can find it on eBay or Amazon. I do believe that the outside problems we have are a reflection of what's going on inside our bodies. I know that our micro biome has a lot to do with it, and what's going on in our heads, so clean up the diet and try to get rid of negative thoughts and emotions and I'm sure it will help.

I wish you all the best,

Violetta
