I was on Lexapro and Ativan for a year or so. Ativan is similar to Klonopin as it is a Benzo. I was eventually able to ween off the Ativan after about a year, but it was a little difficult as Benzos are addictive. Took about 2 months or so.

I've been taking Inositol for the obsessive thinking and that seems to help. I take 1mg a day in the morning on advice from my psychiatrist and the good news is that it's a supplement so you don't need a prescription.

I ended up having to switch to Effexor as the lexapro didn't have a great effect on my OCD. I did also end up taking the Ativan with the Effexor as well.

how much ativan do u take a day if u don't mind me asking. I'm weaning off klonopin and getting rebound anxiety. I had to go back on .25mg My BP is also going up as I wean off klonopin. It's not easy getting off benzos

I was taking 1mg at the time. I'm not sure how that relates to Klonopin though. Had rebound anxiety like you as well. Benzos are pretty awful to get off of but it was worth it for me in the end.

I was on 3mg of Clonazepam/klonopin for 30 years and 3 years ago on SSRi Paxil got down to 1.5 mg . I had no issue by doing a quarter pill every 6-8 weeks. I quit the Paxil and stayed there for about a year. Now about two months ago started building up on Fluoxetine and just hit 60mg which is target for OCD. In a week or two going to start going down again very slow maybe even just .25 at a time. No need to rush if it takes a year or two still better off but even if you don’t get to zero just do best you can and don’t beat yourself up about it.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I use to be on 80mg of Prozac but it stopped working for me. I went down way too quickly on the klonopin. I’m going yo stay on 5mg klonopin with the 40mg lexapro. It stops my obsessive thinking and health anxiety. You’re right I’m hard on myself for needing meds. But I have ocd. Thanks again for your kindness
