Headaches

I've just gotten out of a three week intensive OCD program teaching us all about OCD and ERP. My problem is that my rituals are mental so when I'm out in public I have lots of intrusive thoughts but the effort to do ERP and resist the mental ritual is giving me headaches. Does anyone relate? Does it get easier?

I was the parent coach for my son in his early teens doing ERP, and we spent max 15 minutes per day on his exercises. It was a tough 15 minutes. It took more than a year for him to get over his spider phobia, for example, but it was a good rhythm for him.
