I like to tell myself that I control my thoughts, I control which thoughts to pay attention to and which ones to let go as they not helpful. I try to stop my compulsive mental rituals through mindfulness, it feels uncomfortable but in the end its for the best. Giving into compulsions only makes ocd stronger.

Thanks for sharing. I been focusing mostly on the ERP and just letting the thoughts happen and recognize them as just thoughts. It definitely has been feeling like an up hill battle. But I have been doing mindfulness as well. Feels kind of like a void though. A bit like I am a afraid to toy with any thought and just stay in a mindfulness state all day.
