I recently had a neurotransmitter test done, which indicated that my serotonin levels were perfectly fine and within normal range. I know SSRIs are at the top of the list for medicines being use for OCD. Seeing how my serotonin levels are within normal range, does this pretty much that an SSRI wouldn't make much of an impact for my condition? I wasn't sure if anyone else had also a neurotransmitter test who could possibly shed some light on how it helped determine what they needed to do for treatment. Thanks!

I don't know the answer but I am anxious to know myself. How did you have the test done and who did it?

KKMay,
I found some information on SSRIs and how they work for OCD you may be interested in.

According to the research, this point in time it's unclear exactly how and why SSRIs and SNRIs work for OCD, but it doesn't appear to be as simple as a serotonin imbalance.
Neurotransmitters such as serotonin are complex and often interact with other neurotransmitters and are responsible for regulating many different things in the brain.
Where did you have this test done if you don't mind me asking?
