I am a checker. Lights, outlets, doors, windows, faucets etc. When I have something going on where I need to be somewhere at a certain time - that majorly increases my stress and compulsions which inevitably makes me late to everything. Social events, family events, work, appointments. I try to start checking a half hour or an hour early, but it's like my brain doesn't allow me to actually do this until the time I need to be leaving my house. and then I get frustrated that I'm even doing all the checking - which obviously makes it harder to check. It's frustrating to me (and even more to the people waiting on me) so I'm just wondering if anyone else experiences this or has in the past. If I'm just going to the grocery store, or anything on my own where I know I'll be home soon - I'm totally ok.

I have not suffered from this but it looks like checking OCD. Like as you mentioned you are a checker and check everything. People with checking OCD repeatedly check things but they link those thoughts to harm and danger. Do you get some thoughts like that?
