Question for the OCD members!

Does anyone else have an obsession with numbers in your head? and have a fear of any number? I won't even go in a check out line if it's #6 Thanks guys.

I haven't!! LOL... I count numbers on license plates, I add numbers up and even count things others wouldn't notice. Etc... I love the number 9 because each time you add it up, the numbers will still equal 9! i.e. 9 + 9 is 18 which added together equals 9. Etc... But the worse is my fear of the #6... I will NOT go in a grocery line if that is the # and will wait if I have to. I know it may sound silly to others but it's anxiety causing for me.

Yes i have that exact same thing too With Numbers and i know that Many people With ocd have that, it is just a form of a compulsion i Think it is called something like mental rituals or something but yes I also have that

It's very annoying for me but I don't know why I just don't accept that is how my brain is wired and accept it's a part of me!

Yup, worst number to see anywhere is #6 for me as well. Everytime I get out of my car, the volume needs to be at 13 and if I go under the 13 and have to put it back up to 13, i’m gonna have a bad day. Also, landing on any other uneven number makes me uneasy. And that’s just 1% of my OCD 😞

I'm not alone! I have to have the TV volume set at 18 or 27 because they add up to 9! If anything equals 6, it's not happening!!

Yeah, 6 was a bad number for me too. And other numbers 13 other such numbers as well. So yeah I have dealt with that.

13 doesn't bother me but like my son, he has to have the sound on the TV set at an even number and I have to set the sound to numbers that equal 9! Crazy!!!

True but I can honestly say that I share my OCD with others so they don't feel alone or think they are alone.

Oh, yeah. It'a all about the numbers for me, too. You are definitely not alone.

Yes, I have numbers going around all the time. Like I amtrying to solve math problems a lot. For example, if I was born on this date and my sister was born on this date...how old would she be now, if she had lived? But I have no fear of numbers.
