Medication Changes

I have been on Prozac 80mg since few months for OCD.

It is not helping with the OCD.

It was causing me lack of energy to do daily activities.

Thus, the Psychiatrist put me on Wellbutrin, since it helps with high energy.

I have been taking Wellbutrin 200 mg, and I feel it is working a little bit, by giving me some energy.

Currently, I am still taking Prozac, since it is named as "pure serotonin" for the brain.

A lack of serotonin in the brain causes OCD.

I would like to know if anyone else has this issue with Prozac and low energy ?

I have never had issues with it but I don’t think I’ve ever taken more than 40 mg, if that. I hope the new stuff helps you.

Have you ruled out other potential causes of the lack of energy?

I am not sure if there is anything else which is causing low energy.

Have you had your iron checked?

My daughter has really low energy, sleeps a lot. I took her to endocrinologist, doc ordered a lot of blood work.

It came back showing very low ferritin, which doc now says she’s anemic.

Also, they ordered MRI to check her pituitary gland because if pituitary gland is not functioning then it causes many different issues including depression & tiredness..

I would recommend if you continue to feel this way, try getting your thyroid checked & do blood work to check everything!

I have a thyroid problem and I am taking a thyroid pill.

I get regular blood work done on a yearly basis.
