My mind takes me to all these horrible areas and wants me to think I’m going tofo all these horrible things , anyone know how to deal with these mental images? Like my brain takes me to all these places and things I’m gonna do that I know I’m not and I have all these horrible images of me doing horrible things to people I love . How to deal with mental blocks/ images
Yes, I have definitely dealt with this, but I'm largely over it now. For me, what helped was working through therapy with an OCD specialist (check out the IOCDF web site for recommendations) and both listening to lots of podcasts and reading lots about OCD. I learned how to stop giving the OCD part of brain so much importance and instead working on doing what I wanted to do. You can learn to stop giving your OCD the attention that it craves.
I am sorry to her that you are going through a rough time.
The more you resist the thoughts, the more they persist.
Let the thoughts be there.
Do not interact with them.
Just view it as an OCD thought.
In the beginning, the anxiety will be high, but slowly it will lessen.
Sit with the anxiety.
Do not give importance to thoughts, since they are OCD.
The thoughts will slowly fade away.
