Hi guys I recently went to a therapy session where I was told that I have ocd however I’m not too sure of if this for a number of reasons. I’m not exactly the rudest person in the world I don’t need things to be in order or anything like that (sorry if I’m being flippant about others struggles I certainly don’t mean to be) my main stress and anxiety comes from worrying I’ve not eaten enough during a day because if I don’t I’ll feel terrible. I worry quite a bit about contamination for example worrying about some meat I cooked but I don’t think I cooked correctly just because I didn’t flip it while it was in the oven for two hours I now worry that’s not cooked through properly and will give me food poising and the juices from the meat that spilled on the cooker are also contaminated therefore I won’t be able to cook anything and then I become even more stressed about not eating enough. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

and look around at the site in general. There is a lot of information out there on OCD if you look for it.
I have OCD and am the messiest most un-orderly person in the world. OCD often shows little resemblance to the way it’s portrayed in movies. OCD used as an adjective to mean type A and organized etc is a very misleading stereotype. Check out the website intrusivethoughts.org for lots of information all about OCD that may surprise you. ERP is the gold standard treatment for OCD if you’re interested. Best wishes!
