My daughter suffers from OCD. She recently suffered from an episode of a rare blood disorder called TTP. OCD is concentrating on this disease even though she is in remission. Nothing we do prevents her from obsessing on getting it again. This occurs daily.

Hello,
Is your daughter currently in treatment for her OCD? Specifically, is she receiving an evidence-based form of treatment such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy? This is the best way to reduce symptoms.
To search for a professional who can provide ERP, please feel free to use the IOCDF Resource Directory: iocdf.org/ocd-finding-help/...

This situation is seemingly a nightmare for an individual with health-related intrusive thoughts. OCD will continue to ravage the brain of somebody that has recently come down with a rare illness. That is the unfortunate reality.
However, therapy and medication can assist the brain with fighting OCD in numerous ways. The frequency of intrusive thoughts can be significantly lessened with the combination of therapy and medication.
For her, this occurs much more than daily. I am guessing that it probably occurs on AT LEAST an hourly basis.
Is your daughter in therapy or taking any medication?
Living with a life threatening illness that can come back at any time could cause the OCD to become worse. A therapist and medication should help.
